Crée en 2002, le groupe distille son enthousiasme dans un réperoire qu'il a pû roder lors de nombreux concerts et sessions en France et à l'étranger. Combinant, pas moins de huit instruments: accordéon diatonique, flûte traversière, whistles, violon, banjo, mandoline, guitare et bodhran, les musiciens mélangent tradition et modernité grâce à des arrangements originaux..... ..Shelta (named after the word for the language of the Irish travellers) is a band of five musicians sharing a common passion for Irish traditional music. It came into being in January 2002 after quite a few sessions in Irish pubs of towns like Montluçon and La Châtre, located in the centre of France. Diatonic accordion, wooden flute, tin and low whistles, banjo, uilleann pipes, fiddle, and guitar are used to conjure up lively, feet-stomping music that can also be quiet and evocative at times. With a repertoire of traditional tunes and personal compositions, the band has a modern and innovative sound of its own thanks to original arrangements......... ..
