MySpace a place for friends

Empty Playground is a fresh, independently produced, bi-monthly music magazine, based in Essex. Focusing on all things Rock and Metal, from the grass roots acts to stadium filling legends, no band is too big or too small. Empty Playground aims to help bring new and underground bands to the average fan of alternative music with aspirations to become renowned for having its finger on the pulse.

Throughout the magazine, each issue, we bring you interviews of some great new and old bands; all the latest reviews on albums, singles, zines, gigs, demos and new bands; along with some great features on a huge variety of topics. Each issue is also accompanied by a covermount CD featuring mainly up-and-coming bands but mixed in with some metal legends!

We have so far released 5 issues, each one growing and developing on the one before. We are currently, however, on a break whilst we prepare for the release of issue 6 whilst we raise funds and get ideas together. We plan to release our sixth issue in February 2008 and we will be working towards it up until it's release. So, if you would like to get involved in any way send us a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We're always looking for: writers, reviewers, bands, designers, photographers and anyone else who would like to contribute in any way.

Exclusive Preview Pages Up Now / Update!

Some exclusive sample pages from issue 6 are up now, at our blog-post here, please take a look and let us know what you think. It's only a tiny sample of what's in the magazine, but we thought we would tease you just a little bit more.

On another note, the issue is going to print on Monday (10th March). We expect printing to take around 3 days, so those who have/do pre-order will get theirs before anyone else, as we will post them out on the day we get them. So if you haven't already, be sure to order your copy now!

Issue 6 Now Up For Pre-Order!

We have just made issue 6 of Empty Playground Magazine avaliable for pre-order to everyone out there. Preview of issue 6's cover design...

As work on issue 6 continues we have got a few design ideas together for the cover of the issue. We have already been changing the designs, based on feedback given on our forums, and if you'd like to have a sneak peek of it please check it out and let us know any feedback you might have. Briefly on another note, we conducted the interview for use as part of a main feature with Job For A Cowboy, on Sunday. We hope to get some video clips of the interview up here on our page soon - so keep on the lookout!


Work has begun on issue 6 - to be released in February/March!

Work on issue 6 of Empty Playground magazine has begun and we will all be working on it until we release it in February. We're currently working on ideas and making some cash in order to pay for it but it should be a corker! As ever we are looking for anyone who would like to get involved so if you do message us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
