Vehicle began as a solo project by singer-songwriter Scott Barnes in 2007 as an outlet for his personal, intimate material. Scott enlisted guitarist and producer, Tim Radloff to record and perform on the album Empty Rooms. The songs on Empty Rooms, captured the imagination of drummer Sam Heckman who wrote and overlayed percussion to the arrangements. This paradigm shift in thinking sparked the notion of transforming the project into a full band and bass player Tim Jones was recruited for work on their new album, Revelation. The final piece of the puzzle was bringing in Scott's brother, singer and guitarist Steve Barnes to add his signature guitar leads and harmonize with his sibling.
