I am influenced by different genre's of music; from Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke" to Mint Condition's "Sometimes" - with a rock feel to it. I like various artists such as Aerosmith, Chicago, Earth Wind and Fire to Whitney Houston, each has touched music in a way that will never be the same again. What I do miss and maybe it will be again is rock ballads. It's just something about the harmony in those and the singing.
But we all know that life, circumstances and events are the best influences for great material - musically and lyrically. My advise to all of music's creation is write from your pain, your heartache, your joy, your frustration and in the end, you'll have great music that many will be able to remember because it relates to them.
