Continuation studies
The continuation studies program in photography and
video: The continuation studies program is a special
project aimed to encourage and shape personal creation.
It is a year’s course in which a first solo exhibition is
constructed, with guidance and support from school in
the students’ personal work.
The course will nurture a group of selected graduates
and will provide a supportive framework where they can
continue forming their ideas.
The program is molded in the form of the Musrara School
of photography, with an understanding of its relation to
society and belief in the necessity of a close link between
art and its immediate surroundings (place, culture,
society, news).
The Naggar school is a creative institute that allows students to achieve skills artistically, creatively and professionally in the fields of photography, digital media, video and new music, with an emphasis on inter-disciplinary work. The school was founded in 1986 and is one of the most active art schools in Israel. The school staff consists of leading Israeli artists and professionals. The teachers support the students in each step of the creation process with a straightforward and personal dialogue. The school is situated in a unique environment where a warm social atmosphere and intensive work make a perfect climate for artistic and personal growth, supported by a direct relationship between teachers and students. As an important Israeli institute for art studies, the schools strives constantly to obtain new approaches in the fields of art and teaching, while practicing artistic activities as a means for personal expression and social involvement. The school offers alternative forms of study and allows each student to develop and master their skills and thought to their full personal potential. While studying, the students are required to work on tasks and various exercises and after their final year, each student is required to complete a personal final project – presented as an independent exhibition. Many school graduates find their way into the artistic, professional and commercial market and gain recognition, achievements and awards. For example: the first and second prizes for experimental filmmaking in the Jerusalem International Film Festival 2004, Honorary scholarships from the Sharet Fund, participation in the HP digital photography contest, studies in Arte Dell Citta in Italy. Many of the graduates present works in galleries in Israel and abroad and make the centre of creative and social activity in Israel.
