Folk music with Norfolk, drinking and political lyrics.
Mustard City Rockers formed in Norwich, April 2006, when a group of local punk rockers (including members from bands such as Judder and the Jack Rabbits, The Black Veins, Visual Offence and Project Mork) decided to expand their musical abilities by using traditional folk instruments to play energetic punk influenced music. They show huge diversity in lyrical subject matter ranging from light hearted sing-a-long tunes about their native Norfolk to edgier political songs.
I think I 'member yer saying yer got quite a break before ye next gig (December if i 'member rightly), hopefully be able tae make it! if yer ever need any support, yer know where we are :)
The Grits hard edged Rock'n'Roll, heavilly influenced by The Clash, The Stray Cats, Rancid & The Specials tops off a magnificent bill of Punk, Rock'n'Roll, Rockabilly & Psychobilly!!
Missed your whole set at the Purple Turtle, but I'm sure you were fantastic. Seeing The Lloyd Grossman was a slight, if rather strange, consolation. Chris, you buggered off early and missed your chance to claim the pint I still owe you. Now I will endeavour to have forgotten about it completely by the time of our next encounter.
LAY OUT THE TRAPS - Since 2005 Lay Out The Traps have been tearing up the rule book and re-writing it punk style whilst playing all over London and grabbing fistfuls of new fans at every show. Fusing furious guitars with passionate lyrics and even the odd ska rhythm, their energy and ethics make them true underground heroes, and they’re doing it on their own terms. www. myspace. com/layoutthetraps
THE SMOKING HEARTS - Dirty energetic punk rock’n’roll from this Bedford band who started with "the aim of becoming a Motley Crue for the 21st century" but ended up sounding like Black Flag meets The Misfits meets The Bronx. www. myspace. com/smokinghearts
3 CHORD CRAIG - A rare solo acoustic set of drinking and protest songs from Moral Dilemma’s front man. www. myspace. com/3chordcraig

THE QUAKES - American psychobilly legends since the 80’s, The Quakes were one of the very first American psychobilly bands and remain an incredible influence on the American psychobilly scene. In 2006 The Quakes celebrated their 20 year anniversary and did a 34 show tour of the USA and then 23 more shows all across Europe and Russia. Although this is the first UK tour for nearly 15 years, The Quakes are no strangers to these shores having played the legendary Klubfoot back in 1988, and even selling-up and moving to London for a while. Their amazing psychobilly and rockabilly sound has earned them legions of fans on both sides of the Atlantic, and this is a rare chance to see such a legendary outfit in an intimate venue. www. myspace. com/thequakes
HENRY & THE BLEEDERS - Formed in 2004 Henry & The Bleeders combine vintage rockabilly with the hard and modern edge of punk rock and also add a little hillbilly and traditional R&B to the mix to result in a sound very much for today. Don’t miss these rockin’ tunes from one of the best young bands on the scene. www. myspace. com/henryandthebleeders
