MUST LOVE TRASH (MLT) is a Washington, DC-based rock band made up of four full-time members: Adam Rosenberg (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Matt Scharf (Rhythm Guitar/Vocals), Michael Strauss (Bass/Vocals) and Chetan Rao (Drums). The band was formed in March 2007 and has gained buzz in DC with their unique sound described as a blend between alternative garage-rock and jam band drawing influences from Talking Heads, Phish, Neil Young, Blind Melon and Cake. MLT has gained notoriety with their energetic live performances and showmanship, priding themselves on never playing songs the same way at each show. Their “anything goes” attitude during live performances where their catchy originals get audiences moving has led to the band being described as “loud and local party rockers” by a local music publication.
With so much effort put into producing a solid live performance, it’s no surprise that MLT has consistently filled local venues to capacity in only a short time together. The band has been known to enlist the supporting help of additional local musicians at live performances without warning. Ryan Fogarty (keyboards), Travis Chambers (Drums), Gabe Garcia (percussion), Carl “C-Rat” Easton (freestyle vocals) and Randy Rosenberg (alto flute) have all performed live with MLT.
"MLT bring an older rock sound..."
-OnTap Magazine, February 2008, Music Picks
"Must Love Trash does a good job of covering Cake’s cover of Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive,” and the crowd was really into their performance..."
-OnTap Magazine, September 2007
Hey i love what i do...im just glad you chose me. I feel confident i can bring it to the table...but i would like to get one day of practice before the 22nd...if not still no problem...listening over and over the songs i was sent...i will be ready regardless...later bros...
But no, we're not ready. Gabe is throwing a fit because his mascara is running, and Ash says he'll be late because his clan is having trouble with the Dragon of Glinkincosh. Sigh--what canya do?

How do we rock thee? Let us count the ways. We rock thee to the depth and breadth and height our souls can reach, when feeling out of sight For the ends of Being and ideal Grace. We rock thee to the level of everyday's Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light. We rock thee freely, as men strive for Right; We rock thee purely, as they turn from Praise. We rock thee with a passion put to use In our old griefs, and with our childhoods' faith. We rock thee with a beat we seemed to lose With our lost picks, --- we rock thee with the breath, Smiles, tears, of all our lives! --- and, if God choose, We shall but rock thee better after death.
You guys are all over friggin town now all of a sudden. I wish I had a big screw-off show poster to put in your comments section, just like real bands. We'll be in NY on Friday playing the Lit Lounge. You should come up. There's an open slot on the bill, apparently.
