Sounds Like
Heavy groovin' guitar driven loud-ass slammin' stuff.
Muthika is the melodic & heavy red-headed bastard ugly half-brother of the band Resonate, including Resonate's bassist Steven Hayes, guitarist Grady Earls, drummer Bryan Bedgood, and now including vocalist Curtis Byrd into the Muthika dysfunctional family. We stepped outside of Resonate to do something with some more meat to it. Grady plays a 7 string Ibanez through a Line 6 SpiderII head, Steve's 6 string fretted and fretless Modulus basses thunder through a massive SWR rig, Bryan smacks around a Ludwig double-bass kit called "Big Red" and Sabian cymbals, and Curtis uses an Audix mic through a Digitech Vocalist effects pedal. If you care about that sorta thing. Overall, Muthika's music is just heavy, guitar driven, groove-oriented loud-ass music. Grady's meaty, old-school metal guitar style is accentuated by his keen sense of melody, Steve's bass playing is just frightening, Bryan's cymbal-heavy drumming puts it all together, and Curtis' young enthusiasm brings a modern vocal edge to the band's music.
