About me:
Joe Rush, born in London 1960, is a multi-media artist, showman and cult figure.
As the original founder of the legendary travelling underground art and party collective Mutoid Waste Co., Joe is widely recognised as being one of the most innovative and influential underground artists in the world today.
Influenced by 2000AD comic books and Rock & Roll iconography, with an instinctual sense of 3D form and movement, Joe fuses this with his own unique originality of vision, wild-style flair and quirky sense of humour, creating a signature style that is entirely his own.
Joe is currently based in London and has two young sons Bob and Sam. He works prolifically as both as solo artist and with the Mutoids the world over, with occasional forays to destinations such as Cambodia where he headed a project to make art from the burnt remains killing fields AK47 machine guns.
He has been exhibited alongside other artists at the forefront of underground art such as Banksy and Jamie Hewlitt (creator of Tank Girl) and his work is collected by the likes of Damien Hirst.

Who I'd like to meet:
TRASH CITY
In 2002 the Mutoids returned to Glastonbury Festival after a 17 year hiatus.
Working in partnership with up-and-coming young performer and creative instigator Ruby Blues, Joe and the Mutoids embarked on a series of projects commissioned by the festival including the Joe Strummer Memorial Tree in 2003, pyrotechnic burlesque circus spectacular Pyrettes in 2004 and apocalyptic Victorian carnival Midnight’s Carnival in 2005.
In 2007 Joe and Ruby brought Trash City to Glastonbury: an intergalactic red-light district themed area that combined a mind-boggling animatronic robot show with apocalyptic bombed-out venues, cruise vehicles and cutting edge music and performance from London’s underground, including the first ever Gay venue at a UK music festival; The NYC DownLow.
Trash City will be returning to Glastonbury in 2008, bigger and badder than ever…
