Mr Blank's story goes way back to his ancestors, many of whom are from the old country, farmers, musicians, gypsies and carnies. Mr Blank's own father and mother were carnies at a very young age, traveling the world with the carnivale. So you might say that the carnivale is in his blood. When he was young and growing up his parents began to followed a different carnivale, that of religion. After all isn't the church just another big ten-in-one show?! But Mr. Blank soon found his own way, his own "truth", and left everything behind to see the world, to travel from place to place experiencing all of life's rich wonders. Mr. Blank soon gathered a few friends together and began the "Carnivale of Black Hearts" a vaudvilian styled variety sideshow of "freaks" based out of Athens GA. With everything from Bands to Belly Dancers, Bearded Ladies to Trapeze Artists, Clowns to Human Pincushions, and everything in-between.
Mr Blank is also bassist and vocalist for the band Rat Babies, performs as the Bearded Lady and Human Blockhead in the Carnivale Of Black Hearts, plays viola and conducts the Orchestra Of Broken Toys with fellow carnie-freaks, all while still continuing to play solo around the world.
Mr Blank is.... a black heart, broken hearted, alone in this world and crying on the inside, a creator, an artist, a musician, a photographer, a writer, a sculptor, a singer, a stage performer, a bass and organ player, a gemini, agnostic, needy, a bleeder, an empath, tattoo'd and peirced, a genius, a dreamer, a collector of the strange and unusual, a lover not a fighter, a winter person, a star-watcher and nightswimmer, a day-sleeper, a kid at heart, lost, fading away, depressed most of the time, confused, a waste of space, and so much more... but you will never know who I really am unless you pay close attention!
Be sure not to miss a single Mr Blank performance, there will be many in the near future and each and every one of them will be something different. One night may be a song and dance number, the next may be a sonic wall of noise, and yet another may be something else completely... the point is you'll never know what to expect with Mr Blank so if you miss a night you may never have the chance to see it again.
