Dance, of coarse! I snowboard too but, don't tell my students!
Music
Anything you can dance to... unless it induces a headache...
Movies
Nutcracker- Starring Mikail Barishnakov and Gelsey Kirkland. The technical prowess and artistic genious achieved in this video is mind blowing. I also like the Muppets take Manhatten, West Side Story, Grease, and Young Frankenstein... along with many others... But, these gems all have inspired my creative/artistic side in some way or another...
Television
Who has time to watch tv... I'm too busy dancing!
Books
Dancing On My Grave is a good one... I recommend it to a lot of my students as it is written by one of America's greatest ballerinas and covers her story from budding student, to international superstar, to her sad spiral down the path of drug and alcohol abuse, and then how she picked up the pieces. What can I say?... Performing arts is a tough career choice- I prefer to send my students out well informed.
Heroes
Anyone who can inspire those around him/her to achieve greater things.
The underdog who can rise above and overcome whatever obstacles that may come along, beating all odds.
People who mutually posses ambition and good morals. Even better, people continue to posses ambition and good morals as they pursue their passion in life.

About me: After six very successful years on the island, Ms. Cunningham has decided to temporarily shut the doors of the year-round MVDT program to pursue new, exciting career opportunities in both FL and NYC. However, she will remain available to speak with and offer guidance to all of the dancers that she has worked with over the years as well as those who are just looking for some information. Says Ms. Cunningham, "At this time I would like to thank the island community for embracing our program and for all of your support over the years. We will leave this site up so that you don't forget about us... as we just might be making our way back to your beautfiful shores!"
Who I'd like to meet: Cape and Island kids who are interested in training for a career in professional dance. Serious minded students who are eager to develop their talents and perform with a pre-professional dance company.
I'd also like to hear from former students and colleagues that I have lost touch with. Would love to hear about where life has lead them and whether or not they would be interested in working on any future projects.
