WHO WE ARE:
Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue is a 501c3, Non-Profit Organizion. We are funded entirely by donations and run by the hearts of our Volunteers who are dedicated to rescuing Boston Terriers from shelters and individuals and finding them permanent homes. We have no shelter, our rescued Bostons are fostered in our homes until they find their new loving, responsible, lifelong homes.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
To rescue Boston Terriers in need in the states of Michigan, Ohio, Illinois and Indiana. That are relinquished for any reason by their owners, or are abandoned at shelters, animal control centers, veterinarian offices, Humane Society, SPCA or other facilities. To address any issues the dog may have that caused him/her to be surrendered or abandoned. By Providing public awareness of pet over population by ensuring that any dog adopted is spayed or neutered. Providing breed education and training assistance to those interested in adopting, and to those after they adopt. Our focus for each Boston Terrier in need is to provide a safe, healthy environment while we strive to find the best home available for that specific dogs needs.
WHY BOSTON TERRIER RESCUE?
We rescue Boston Terriers because we know and love this breed, and for no other reason then our concern for their welfare. So many dogs are shelter dumped, lost or given up and unfortunately this breed is no exception. We have seen a dramatic increase in the trend of owning this breed since January 2004. As the demand and desire for this breed has increased, so has our need to rescue more dogs. We average 5-8 Boston's a week intake, with our average cost per dog of $350. Many cost more becaues they are surrendered or shelter dumped in poor health conditions or because they require medical treatment that a former owner couldn't afford.

• If you are interested in any of the Boston Terriers in MWBTR please fill out and send in our placement application (files below).
• If you are interested in any of the dogs listed on our Courtesy Listings page, please use each dogs direct contact info.
• Our placement policy is to place the Boston Terrier to the perfect home. It is not first come first served. Please be aware that we require an application and we do check veterinary/personal references and perform home checks before placing our dogs.
• We DO NOT ship dogs. If you are out of state you MUST come to the dog. We do not transport. If you get home and for some reason you change your mind, you WILL bring the dog back to us.
• Out of State applications (outside MI, IL, IN, OH) are still required to have a home visit. It will be done by another rescue or someone else that we know.
• Applications will only be kept on file for 6 months. After 6 months we will require a new application. We cannot accept an email saying to keep your application on file as we need any updated information.
• We do not make money from doing rescue work, but we do need money to offset veterinary costs so we can save other BT's in need. There is a non-refundable placement fee of $175 for Senior Dogs 7 & up, $250.00 for Adults 2-6 yrs, and $325 for Puppies 1 year and under. So it would be wise to visit your chosen dog at least once before placement so you can be sure.
