The girl who stole the name from Pippi Langstrumpf for record-pushing was born in Rome as Chiara Nicoletta Consuelo Iole Fumai in the year of ‘Never Say Die’ by Black Sabbath and denied a glorious punk-noise-riot past after receiving the Drexciyan Enlightment in the year 2003.
Inspired by the irony of italodisco and by the darkest side of techno, she plays selections based of old school synthetic atmospheres mixed with maximal, acid and dirty elektro-tech beats. Ex founder of the ‘Lobby’ (old school elektro parties) in Milan, and member of Electric Indigo’s Female Pressure, Langstrumpf has burned the decks of 10 countries, rocking old skull trains in squats, festivals, clubs, raves, ladyfests, galleries, fashion events and art venues such the Venice Biennale and the Contemporary Art Museum Villacroce in Genoa.
In 2006 Langstrumpf was the invited Italian artist to play at Impulse in Beijing and joined the final selection of the Girly Dj Contest at Fuse, Bruxelles. In 2007 she performed her first audio-video live show during Kunstart in Bozen and joined Redbull Music Academy in Toronto where she learned production skills with the help of Marco Passarani.
In 2008 she founded, together with Elisa Colonna and Michele Tessadri (from Fratelli Riviera) the electronic label Dischi Bellini, that currently sucks her blood because of the administration job.
Currently based in Holland and Milan, her best friend is a famous magician and she has never been to Ibiza.
