It started, as do so many things, with Smegma --
The founders of punk-pop-metal hailing from the hardened streets of Chelmsford Massachusetts,
Scott and Duncan's band Smegma forged this new genre with a catalog of songs including "Time to Die" - a tribute to the movie Aliens, "Family Man" - a tribute to Charles Manson and "Smegma"... a tribute to, well, smegma.
Smegma didn't last forever, it never does, but the two musical pioneers continued thier collaborative efforts for several years before moving onto their own projects. Scott played in some sort of "rock" band while trying to get his male escort service off the ground while Duncan "turned on, tuned in and dropped out" with a bunch of faux hippies while writing songs about devouring various species of wildlife.
But two came together once more. Only now the the times had caught up with their visionary fusion of fast, anthemic, metal edged sound and the time was right to form the "Greatest Band Ever (tm)". BenderX is that band. Together with alleged drummer JoeBX, they've played every crappy bar, club and sweet 16 birthday party throughout New England and New York.
With the release of their flagship CD "Hooks", they have proved themselves not only THE original punk-pop-metal band, but THE fucking BEST punk-pop-metal band.
Ever.
