My Bible My Gun is a project I started sometime in 2003. A hobby run amuck, My Bible My Gun quickly turned into something that I figured might be worth taking seriously.
Like most artists I wanted to create the kind of music that I would like to hear. It’s easy to criticize, not so easy to do. That said, with so much music out there that I personally find unpalatable, it was easy to know what I did not want to sound like. However, if I had to describe the sound of what eventually came to be, I’d have to say it’s a mash of Elvis, Johnny Cash, Nick Cave and Joy Division. So, stylistically, you can say, it’s a little bit
Country and a little bit Rock and Roll.
My musical influences are wide ranging, but during the period I wrote this material, early `50s and `60s Rock and Roll played a big part. It was the directness, irreverence and honesty of that era that I found contagious. If anything, it is that influence that I hope has made it’s way into my work.
So far I am the sole member. Well, me and my trusty old reel-to-rell tape machine who stands in as the band for now. Being self-taught, I tried keeping the songs simple yet lush. I’m not interested in needless guitar solos or any other clichés.
On this site are a few of my songs; take a listen and let me know what you think. Hopefully you will enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
With any luck you'll be able to see me perform somewhere near you. I'll be keeping you posted.

My Bible My Gun....Whats up, How r you?.....Just stopping by to share this great quote about James Brown with you......."James Brown is an American original. A king of soul and rock 'n' roll, Brown is one of the most influential musical artists of the last fifty years, and perhaps the most sampled artist in hip hop history. We are saddened by his death, but take comfort in his amazing, relentless legacy."
