HELLO! I INVITE YOU TO EXPERIENCE, AND INTERACT HERE WITH ME IN MY WORLD OF DARKNESS. THIS PROFILE, AND MY BLOGCAST ON BLOG TALK RADIO WILL CHRONICLE ALL MY EXPERIENCES DEALING WITH DIFFERENT ISSUES IN MY LIFE AS A BLIND PERSON, AND HOPES TO EDUCATE YOU AT THE SAME TIME ABOUT OUR TRUE REALITY.
HERE I UNIQUELY PRESENT TO THE WORLD MY MUSICAL DOCUMENTARY TO SHOW HOW I DEAL WITH ALL THE VERY DIFFICULT SITUATIONS ON A DAILY BASIS. IN ADDITION, WHEN FACED WITH ADVERSITY I TRY TO CONSTRUCTIVLY CHALLENGE THEM THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE TO ALWAYS COME OUT A WINNER, BUT OUR HARD REALITY IS THAT BEING BLIND HAS IT'S SHARE OF FEARS, AND PAIN. HOWEVER, I DON’T WANT ANYONE TO FEEL SORRY FOR ME. I JUST WANT FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE THE SAME, AND THAT WE WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED AS EQUAL. THE ONLY DIFFRENCE IS THAT YOU WILL SEE THE WORLD WITH YOUR EYES, AND I WILL SEE IT WITH MY HEART.
MOREOVER, I SIMPLY WANT TO BE GIVEN A CHANCE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE BECAUSE I ALSO HAVE DREAMS TOO!
“I NO LONGER HAVE MY SIGHT, BUT I STILL HAVE VISION”

Going to the movies is one of my favorite pass time whether its with a group of good friends, or that special someone. (continue reading) Most of the time i pay to see a movie, and later i sneak in to see another one. ( i'am a bad girl ) Hey! the cost to see just one movie is so expensive these days. Well someone has to do it. MR cane and i are like the great duo bonnie& clyde. We do everything together. (lol) I really enjoy watching a movie filled with lots of drama, action, comedy, family friendly, and most of all romance. Yes i musdt admit that i'm a hopeless romantic. During the movie i like to enjoy a super sized bucket of popcorn along with an iced cold refreshment. Moreover, at times to satisfy my sweet tooth i munch on a box of raisinetts, and i am all set to enjoy the flick. I give the movie five stars, bunches of apples, and 2 thumbs up latina diva style. EACH DAY IS A GIFT
by Author Unknown
The 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud lady, who is fully dressed each morning
by eight o'clock, with her hair fashionably coifed and makeup perfectly applied,
even though she is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today.
Her husband of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.
After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, she smiled
sweetly when told her room was ready.
As she maneuvered her walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of
her tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on her window. "I love
it," she stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented
with a new puppy.
"Mrs. Jones, you haven't seen the room .... just wait."
"That doesn't have anything to do with it," she replied. "Happiness is something
you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how
the furniture is arranged, it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love
it. It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend
the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no
longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do. Each day is
a gift, and as long as my eyes open I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories
I've stored away, just for this time in my life."
She went on to explain, "Old age is like a bank account, you withdraw from what you've
put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account
of memories Thank you for your part in filling my Memory bank. I am still depositing."
And with a smile, she said:
"Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less."
--- THE VALUE OF A SMILE
by Author Unknown
A smile cost nothing, but gives much.
It enriches those who receive,
without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment,
but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it, and none is so poor but
that he can be made rich by it.
A smile creates happiness in the home,
fosters good will in business,
and is the countersign of friendship.
It brings rest to the weary,
cheer to the discouraged,
sunshine to the sad,
and is nature's best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen,
for it is something that is of no value to anyone
until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile.
Give them one of yours,
as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.------------
Dare to Be
When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.
When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.
When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.
When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.
When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.
When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.
When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.
When times are tough, dare to be tougher.
When love hurts you, dare to love again.
When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.
When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.
When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.
When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.
When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.
When the day has ended, dare to feel as you’ve done your best.
Dare to be the best you can –
At all times, Dare to be!

"Don't limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do.
You can go as far as your mind lets you. ..What you believe, remember, you can achieve." Mary Kay Ash
About me: Hello! My name is J and I have been blind since birth becuase I was born premature.
Now Due to my low birth weight and
insufficient physical development it has
resulted in lifelong health problems for me.
The common medical complications i have
been facing since birth have been a rare eye
condition called Morning Glory Sindrome,
and the other is called Retinitis Pimentosa.
Retinopathy of Prematurity, or (R.O.P.) is an
eye condition caused by the abnormal
growth of blood vessels. This can result in
vision loss, and even blindness. Statistics
indicate that an extreme premature
birth can result in death, and i thank god so
very much that i was one of the lucky
ones to make it. After spending several
weeks in the hospital my wonderful parents
were given the good news that i was able to
finally go home. For them this was the
greatest gift of all because i was released
from the Hospital on Christmas day, and this
truly is a miracle. During my teen years, and
young adult life i was considered to be
Leagally Blind, but i still had some low
vision. At that point in my life i did not have
the need to use a Cane, nor a Guide Dog.
Well knowing that i had limitations while
growing up i made sure to make it a point to
have nothing stop me from having a normal
childhood. In my mid Twenties in college i
Gradually began to loose my vision. Then
one day to my surprise in the morning i woke
up in total darkness only leaving me now
with some light and shadow preception. At
first i must honestly admit that the shock
was dramatic for me, and i was in a state of
total confusion. Each day that passed by i
desperately tryed to figure out the reasons
as to why this had happened to me. At this
time this was a very cridical point in my life
in which i had to make a very important
decision as to what i was going to do next.
I was locked in my room for several months,
and i was living a battle within myself. In my
mind i was dealing with very distructive
thoughts. On the other hand, in my heart i
still had my faith. The only thing i needed
to do was to make that right choice. Until i
noticed this one day that was very different
from the others. On that certain day i really
felt an amazing burst of strength, and felt my
heart wanting to beat again with life.
I believe that faith was preparing me to
discover a new passage for my new life that i
was soon going to experience. I knew that
the journey that i was about to embark was
going to be hard because i had to learn
everything over. It was like being born once
again, but this time into total darkness.
While growing up i really didn't want for
anyone to feel sorry for me or as the Latin
Culture would say "Ay Bendito" I just
ask to be treated the same as they would
want to be treated. Now my struggles have
gotten even harder, and it truly seems that
its just not enough to get that big break, or
the foot in the door. Never the less, i will
still keep on believing in the passion i have
in my heart, since God has given me a
chance at life, i know that i must have a
purpose, and a mission in this world. I
believe that one day i will get my chance to
shine. Hey! watch out cause here i come.... -- "Most of the important things in
the world have been accomplished by people
who have kept on trying when there seemed
to be no hope at all". -- Dale Carnegie --
"Optimism is the faith that leads to
achievement. Nothing can be done without
hope and confidence". Helen Keller. -- We
the one's who are challenged, need to be
heard. To be seen not as a disability, but as
a person who has, and will continue to
bloom. To be seen not only as a handicap,
but as a well intact human being. -- Robert
M. Hensel.
