WANT TO LEARN TO MAKE MUSIC?
Experience the music of the top chart acts with our music production Workshops. All ages and abilities are catered for and led by friendly tutors who encourage a cozy, relaxed and fun environment. The workshops are tailor made to suit your requirements ranging from taster sessions, help with setting up your own school or community recording studio, regular workshops, summer schools, talks, demonstrations, performances and much more. We provide all the equipment needed and can even supply guest speakers to give professional advice on music issues.
WHAT IS CHANTS?
Chants is a Reading based CIC (Community Interest Company) that offers young people, many not in education employment or training with some classified as at risk and aged between 11 and 21, music production workshops where they are taught the basics of music production and marketing, enlightening them into what it takes to become a artist, some have behavioral problems or learning difficulties. The workshops are based around helping to build each participants confidence self esteem and understanding of other cultures and traditions, whilst teaching them vital life skills and getting them to express themselves through music in a positive way. Many of the young people we have worked with have returned and offered their services as volunteers assisting other young people and a few have secured part time jobs within the music and entertainment industry.
CHANTS MUSIC WORKSHOPS
Individuals and groups can learn to play instruments, produce music and develop their skills by attending weekly workshops at Chants studio just outside central Reading.
Workshops take place 7 days a week and range from £27.50 per hour with concessions for siblings and those paying in advance. Bursaries are available for talented youngsters and families on low income.
Alternatively you may want your group to attend their own regular 60 – 90 minute weekly workshops with instruments and tutors provided. Group size should be 3 people max.

SCHOOL/COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS
Bring music to your school, youth club or community group with all day music workshops, live instruments, percussion and tutors are provided for an all day hands on experience for students and teachers at your school.
We can also help you to set up a music production workshop in your school or youth club including accessing the instruments, developing a learning program as part of the school curriculum, tutor training (inset) and funding advice. If your school already has a recording studio or recordable facilities we can provide regular tutors (CRB cleared) during or after school hours. Call us to discuss tailor made options to suit your schools requirements. Chants collaboration with organizations and schools in Reading culminates in a local concert twice annually. We can also arrange for showcases and demonstrations at fetes seminars and school discos
We can book a range of sessions to suit your event from local school bands to international
Professionals.

Each year, as part of our Young Peoples Music Development Program (YPMDP) senior members of chants organize events and performances to showcase the achievements of the young people attending regular workshops.
YPMDP is a training program for young people aged 14 – 21 who want to access professional opportunities in the arts, music and creative performance industries. YPMDP provides work experience, assistance and event management training.
