I've had the great good fortune to play with following musicians (in no particular order), on more than one occassion ::
David Budway, Gavin Fallow, Essiet Essiet, Alvin Atkinson, Mayra Casales, Elias Baily, Ron Affif, Randy Napoleon, Bobby McFerrin, Clare Fischer, Brent Fischer, Rich Armstrong, Richie Cole, Mike Baggetta, Michael Blanco, Andrew Higgins, KC Filson, Bobby Shew, Sylvia Cuenca, Cornelious Bumpus (still miss you), John DiPinto, Ritt Henn, Clinton Day, Tony Stead, Paul Dorr, Rod Harris, Kelly Park...
The songs currently up on this page are from a series of Tuesday night gigs I did in August 2007 at the Metropolitan Room, in the slot right after Annie Ross (yeah, how cool is that?! gawd, I love New York!).
Due to technical difficulties, the Hi-Fi multi-track recordings are not yet available... these are basically in-house live mixes from the board (converted in Garage Band by my friend Shaynee Rainbolt, as I was unable to do so on my electric abacus - iMac circa 2000).
Even with this Lo-Fi offering, it's pretty clear to hear how talented all the musicians are and, hopefully conveyed, is how much fun we had.
David Budway on piano, Essiet Essiet on bass, Mayra Casales on percussion, Sylvia Quenca on drums, with Gavin Fallow on bass for The Cat Came Back (Alvin Atkinson also played drums for one show but isn't featured on these few tracks).
For Chick Corea fans, there is an inside joke near the end of THE CAT CAME BACK.
Apologies to Essiet and Mayra (and the general public) for needing to remove intro instrumental solos ... Close Your Eyes and Senior Blues in order accommodate posting on myspace.
And yeah, on my Senior Blues solo... about 2 bars in, I realized I was ripping off another vocalist, sort of got out of it, then brain farted back into it... but this was the most groovin' version of this tune, so I will suffer some embarrassment on behalf of the greater musical good...
If you've been to my myspace page before and were hoping to hear my original tunes from my first CD... ANALGESIC... you can find them on their own myspace page:
