CLEAR has spent a decade perfecting its original pop sound and powerful live performances.
Sue Johnson and Christian Patterson have created a high-energy show that includes big vocals, jazzy guitar riffs, and hot harmonica and percussion. As a trio, Ken Kanwisher adds layers of acoustic and electric bass, keys and cello.
Our sound is influenced by many greats of the past including The Beatles, Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell and Duke Ellington as well as new (and especially Canadian) talents like Sarah Slean, Hawksley Workman and Feist.
We are consummate professionals and our performances are always of the highest quality. You may have seen us performing at some of these fine Canadian festivals and venues: The North American Folk Alliance Conference, Ottawa Bluesfest, Ottawa Tulip Festival, Ottawa Folk Festival, Toronto's Winterfolk, the National Arts Centre's 4th Stage, and the National Library of Canada.
