This poor baby didn't even have a chance at life. He suffered and died a horrible death. The cruelty and outright blatant disregard for humane treatment of this pup should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. My idea, which I think is more appropriate, is to treat the offender in the same way.

I was fortunate to see one of these endangered animals on a trip to Africa in 2005. There were only four of them in a protected refuge with other endangered animals. Poaching animals for fur or horns or anything else is rampant in Africa. Unfortunately, poachers rarely get caught and they leave the animal carcass to rot.

Hi All, I have attached a You-Tube video that is making the rounds in the Greyhound world. Of course, all of us with Greyhounds identify with all or portions of what we see in the video. So I wanted to reach out to others. I am sending this out in hopes of "tugging on some heart strings" and help Arizona Greyhound Rescue with placement or fostering of Greyhounds affected by the closing of the Phoenix Greyhound Race Track. John Clark, President of AGR, and his able group of volunteers have done an outstanding job so far with managing the number of Greyhounds that are available. But more needs to be done. With all their hard work, progress is being made. That is the good news. The "bad news" is we have an abundance of available dogs and assistance is needed in getting the word out about their availability. The hope is to place these wonderful animals before they end up in Mexico, or research labs---or in some cases, dead in the desert. I am not asking you to take a dog nor am I asking for money. What I am asking, is if you know someone looking for a companion, ask them to consider a Greyhound. Send them this video, have them talk to a local Greyhound rescue group, or contact me for a reference or connection to someone who is working hard to save the "out placed" Greyts.
