B I O G R A P H Y

MY DEFENSE was founded in Cologne in the beginning of 2005. The members Heiko (Bass) and Björn (Drums) coincidentally met each other again in town after having played in the band OFFSIDE during the early 90's.

Their goal was clear from the beginning: the traditional „Old-School-Spirit“ in a modern form rather than the orientation to current trends.

After extensive searching, the right members were found and M.D immediately started to transform their ideas into energy loaded riffs. The result was a stunning mix of old New York-/California HC and Punkrock. Impulsive drums, angry vocals, alternation of hard and melodic riffs and sing-a-longs are the main elements of M.D..

In the end of 2005, their first DIY-Demo-CD “Here's my rage” was released. They received positive resonance and played many shows all over Germany. Subsequently their first full length album “God Damn Those Hardcore Junkies” was released by “Striving for Togetherness (SFT) Records” in 2007.

Shortly after the release, M.D experienced their first setback because Thorsten (Guitar) left the band for personal reasons.

Fortunately, replacement was found soon and Sebastian entered the band in April 2007. Although every change creates space for new variations, the goal and ideas of M.D remained the same.

In July 2008, M.D recorded a 6-Track-Demo-EP (D.I.Y.) called "I’mbreakable". With this material a new label is to be searched (SFT-Records R.I.P.)!
