"DRY CAN" came into existence at the end of the 90's, as an acoustic duo, by Antoine Abinun and Anne Lupieri, both vocalists and guitarists; they crossed paths again after a split, when Xanadis, a band in which they had performed together in the first place, had disbanded.
The two of them started composing together anew, and they quickly noticed how efficiently that alchemy worked. But they soon realised how essential it was to add a rythmic section to the group, and startred looking for musicians.
After several line-up changes, and a few years spent in rehearsal rooms and on stages, Antoine and Anne decided in 2006 to call on Ludovic Die-drums-and Christopher Mouron-bass-in order to carry out the recording of their first album "Something like that...".
A few monts later, Pascal Desmet-drums- and Olivier Crescence-bass-teamed up with them, and once those two musicians had joined them, their band at last found its balance and it has fully become an entity in itsself.
Since Jan.2007, when the album was released as a self-production, DRY CAN have gigged around more and more.

They've written about "Something like that...":

"If you used to be a 90's rock fan, here is a combo for you, it has also been one of our favorites recently. Dry Can's music puts in hard, sweating work, roaring and howling like in the old blessed days of "Sainte Seattle". A whiff of nostalgia...but, above all, that's what we call singing!

...the eight pieces of this album feature a good amount of impulsive, infuriated rock, giving full play to the sound of the guitars and wah wah pedal,but they also resolutly tread on the ballad's path, owing to the impact conveyed by the duality of their voices.

There can be found the riffs and melodies that dramatically remind us of Pearl Jam, whatwith these accelerations typically metal, with Zeppelin accents calling to mind Jimmy Page. And now the question is: how come that Dry Can isn't on air everywhere?

..A must-have CD-definitively so. With its struming solos, so fiercely rock'n roll, its funky rhythm section, its sideral groove, Dry Can 's cocktail all at once blows your head off as soon as you start lapping up, and then leaves you with a surprisingly odd aftertaste, when the feast is over.

..When you listen to them for the very first time, you can't help remembering bands-so genuinely creative ones-like Soundgarden, Pearl Jam or even-for connaisseurs-a combination of both: Temple of the dog! But far from being just a common imitation, Dry Can were able to get the very best out of each of them, and thus they have managed to assert their own style with energic violence, and they are making quite a succes of it all!
GENERATON-ROCK

Having often been compared to the great names of the Seattle stage of the 90's, the four little french musicians are far from being a poor imitation of their elders, but they have managed to use choice pieces inherited from them, adapting them to our day's flavour-without overdoing it though, enough to sound vintage, but never oudated. In "Something like that..."their first record, Dry Can lay down the solid foundation of their band, which shouldn't remain in obscurity for long(..)Their work is loaded with influences and references, from thePink Floyd to the Red Hot, scattered here and there with a few Kornian accents, which is amazing in such a recent band's creations.And again, that is their main achievement! The variety of those influences: it makes the whole thing in no way monotonous, so that record plays on my record player time and time again, as well as in my head...
RUNK

...And yet, from the very first notes of "Wherever I stand", there lies a big, wide world, dense, incredibly attractive.The vocal duo carries one away onto musical fields one had long thought suitable to discard. The Seattle stage of the 90's.(...)Dry Can amazingly contrive to update it with current trendo, by inserting a good amount of progressive rock: an unlikely blending that fits together beautifully. Just imagine a convoluted structure-Tool's style like-with gimmicks, Red Hot Chili Pepper's way-it can't but appeal to everyone, it's filled with bold originality.
B-SIDE ROCK

No doubt. Dry Can's musicians stand out because they master their skills. One also enjoys the change of atmosphere brought about by Anne's voice in "See what you're in" one of the most convincing titles in the album, in whitch the saturated amps are reinserted in a frenzied finale.
As we get nearer to the end of it all, we listen to superb piece "Ring", a short summary of the band's multifacets, between outbursts and moments of lull, and we are definitively convinced of the validity of Dry Can's venture.
