About me:
Wow how do I begin talking about me. I Love the Lord Jesus. I Love my Family, I Love the (true) Church, I Love People (especially internationals), I Love Nature. I grew up youngest of 5 in a single parent household. Though I was raised in an area of the city that was impoverished and crime ridden, I was sheltered from much of that because of my mom. She had an intimate relationship with Jesus and lived a 'love filled' life that she showered over her children and others.
I attended a predominately white catholic school from 1st through 12th grade, a great experience (yep it really was). Though we were not catholic, my mother worked very hard to send some of us to private school because of the incredible education and safety. Attending predominately white schools was my catalyst for a lifelong ministry and calling to racial reconciliation. Who knew what God was up to. :-))
I studied in Stirling, Scotland [the place where the Wallace Monument is located ie BraveHeart] as an exchange student when I was in undergrad. Of course I fell in love with the Scottish people, their history and culture. Hence my favorite movie of all time, BraveHeart.
It was a life changing experience which shaped and influenced my world view and God view. (Just think about it...God's not just in America.) Since then, I have travelled throughout Europe, N. Africa, South Asia, Caribbean and Latin America mostly mission trips but some recreational.
I view life as a journey ie Pilgrim's Progress. The journey with God is just as important as my heavenly destination to God. I want to treasure and savor my time on Earth with the Father. He ministers to me through His Presence, my family, my church, my friends my struggles and my pain. Yep suffering is slowly becoming a friend, because it's like a sheepdog nipping at my heels chasing me to the Cross.
So this journey encompasses me experiencing Him fully in my daily worship and in the seemingly mundane chores of washing dishes and doing homework with the kids. I want Him to permeate my life with His Life.
I guess that's me...when it's all said and done. I just want to be known as servant and faithful. Yep Faithful Servant. Peace.
