Radiohead, Hondo Maclean, Funeral For A Friend, Oasis, Bullet For My Valentine, At The Drive-In, Longpigs, Cooper Temple Clause, Kasabian, Muse, Prodigy, Stereophonics, Jimmy Eat World, Nirvana, 65 Days Of Static, The Mars Volta, Biffy Clyro, Enter Shikari, The Klaxons, People In Planes, Taking Back Sunday, 30 Seconds To Mars...
My Friend Eject are a unit of individuals, a regiment. But we don't all look the same and we don't all like the same things. We didn't all go to school together, we haven't known each other for years and we're not childhood mates.
What connects us is a passion for music. Another is our belief that there's a lot of amazing music out there, and a lot of absolute $hite rammed down your throats by corporate business. Since forming last year, all we've tried to do is make music we love, music which conveys emotion AND enough energy to get your head banging.
Because we don't only like one kind of music, we don't only play one kind of music. There's always a tendency to pigeonhole, but we've just tried to mix and match (i.e. steal) the best bits of the bands we love. We wanna fuse the Prodigy's beats with Muse's riffs. We wanna make huge epic rock songs with the jarring rhythms of The Klaxons and the energy of Enter Shikari. Not a wall of sound but a mountain of noise, to smash you in the face, with soaring melodies to pick you back up so we can do it all over again. That's the mission.
It seems to us that everyone wants to be a rule breaker or trend setter. At the same time, they follow the trend which thinks it's alternative. F*ck all that. It should be all about the music. Always. For that reason we'd like to thank all those people who have already shown us support. The believers. Those people that have added us as friends, left us comments and told others they liked what they'd heard. Those people that have come to gigs with an open mind and listened. Especially those people that have come to gigs and got down the front to rock out and let themselves go.
So try and come along to a show to say hello if you like the music. If you can't make it drop us a line on here or via email. But if it's only to try and flog us stuff, add us if you're another band without even listening to our tracks or to spam us then don't f*cking bother. See you down the front...
