Formed in 2002 out of the ashes of Ginger Whine.....BLAH, BLAH, BLAH.....NOT JUST ANOTHER PUB BAND scrounging around for fans, begging their mates to come to their gigs to pay a fiver for another woeful performance. With mygaymonkey you get more. They are an incredible four-piece that, given the right circumstances, would blow away both the sex pistols and XTC on the same bill.
They have touched success and tragedy; toured with 999, splodgenessabounds and the dead pets; and overcame the loss of their drummer ‘sticks’, due to a horrific motorcycle crash with a bus on the way to a gig. (He was riding the motorcycle).
Flirted with stardom; Johnson with the legendary Windsor Davies, ‘Bananas’ Kaney annoying Mark Lamarr, and frankly ‘spice’ has just been flirting with death for the last 10 years.
Unpredictable on stage, Micky ‘Bananas’ has punched spice six times in the face, (a stage prank that went wrong ), smashed up 4 guitars, and destroyed one amplifier. Spice tells jokes, swears like a trooper and chucks his bass at Kaney ‘Bananas’, and Johnson once spilt a cup of Bovril (a bit) on stage, while untangling his leads.
mygaymonkey will be the most exciting, innovative, fascinating, and dissapointing band you'll ever see. They will have it all, make it small, come to the party, turn it up to 12, nick your thunderbirds and stick bubble bath in your toilet cistern. 22.3.09 - A big shout must go to ex-member Hayden Hack,
who penned the fantastic tune 'Rush Away', and is now sunning himself in Oz with
his new family. Hayden has now gone solo and kickin' out the jams across
Australia. We've got nothing but respect and love for the cheeky fella, so check
out his myspace site and let us know what you think. He will, however, never be
as good a guitarist as me! We're looking forward to when he returns to the U.K.
so we can put him on at the Vale. C'mon fella!

(Ruislip) as a venue and contact Hillsy for future gigs.
Ex-drummer Jakey Sticks has now recovered from his
twisted scrotum (a bizarre cycling accident), and is now fit and well and
working on films with Steven Spielberg.
Ex-drummer Chrissy Sticks, had escaped
from the brothel he had been working in in Amsterdam, and the last we heard was
working as a banker.
Ex-drummer Tommy Sticks has recovered from
his painful 'jap's eye' incident and the operation was successful, thanks. Give
us a call Tommy!
Ex-drummer Gary 'Dreadful' sticks (The
Damned) has now given up on using traditional instruments and is now working in
Tescos on a new project involving pans and spoons.
Ex-drummer Andy sticks is now playing with
Snow Patrol.
Ex-drummer Nick sticks has moved on from
playing with The Soup and Nun of the Above and is now lording it in
Kingston.
Ex-singer Davey 'boy' Lloyd is now working
as an estate agent.
