Inspired by the British Rock Symphony Tour (promoted as A Tribute To British Rock headlined by Roger Daltrey), vocalist Gary Charman set about putting a band together that could take a similar concept to smaller venues around the country.
First on Garys hit list was drummer Gary Harper. Having toured extensively together as well as working in the studio, his flair & energy as a good, solid, rock drummer made him Garys obvious choice.
The two Garys then approached Steve White a highly respected bass player who has also worked with Gary Harper in the past. This would provide the backbone of the tight, solid rhythm section for the band. Now all the band needed was the right lead guitarist.
Having worked with Terry Hill in the Eagles tribute band The Long Run Gary knew his skill and passion as a first class rock guitarist, Terry was invited to the 1st rehearsal & it was obvious from the outset that this line up was going to work extremely well, so in the autumn of 2002 the band Classic Rock UK was born . Since then the Band have been performing a great show of Classic British Rock featuring THE WHO, CREAM, FREE, BAD COMPANY, WHITESNAKE, culminating in an Awesome! LED ZEPPELIN medley.
Due to the huge popularity of their explosive rendition of THE WHO
Classics, it has been decided to put together a complete Tribute to this legendary band performing under the new name: MY GENERATION
When you come to see us, you will see four professional musicians with real energy and pure passion for the music of a truly legendary band. You will have a great time.
It has to be said that we are not "Who clones "or "Who look a likes". We don't impersonate the Who. Not a white boiler suit, or fringed jacket in sight.
Our tribute to the "Who" is totally devoted to their music.The Who have developed a sound and presentation in recent years which we feel sees them at the best they have ever been. They are right here in the present. We base our sound and presentation on where they are now, not in the past.
If you have caught any recent tour or dvd, you will see where we are coming from.
The band is currently enjoying great success with the new show, but still includes the additional classics by Led Zeppelin etc, where requested
