"I can't even remember if there was a time when I didn't want to pursue a musical career," says My Jeremiah frontman Kyle Tredway. "I started playing in
bands when I was very young, and I haven't really looked back."
The progression to My Jeremiah has been interesting for the multi-faceted song-writer. He promptly joined a band called Quick and The Dead with some high
school friends -- playing guitar and singing backups. "I taught myself drums and guitar early on, so I was excited to be playing music no matter what I was
playing in the band." Short-lived as it may have been, the experience in Quick and The Dead helped Tredway realize where to focus his passion. "Although I
was finally touring, I think I just realized that this band is not where I was supposed to be." So he took a year to write and record songs of his own.
In late 2007 and early 2008, Kyle recorded his debut full-length album 'Where You Are' with producers Matt Goldman (Underoath, Cartel, Copeland) and Jeff
Schneeweis (Hawthorne Heights, Brighten, Number One Gun). The album was released shortly thereafter on Japan's Fabtone Records. Even still, something didn't
feel quite right to him. "I was having fun doing everything on my own, but I could easily tell something was missing. A band."
Tredway recruited his friends Jusin Carvacho and Aaron Eckardt (formerly of the band Jessebackwards) and Nick Puccini (formerly of Quick and The Dead also) to
round out the lineup. The full band came together in early 2009 and quickly began performing live -- previously recorded material as well as new music. Kyle
sees multiple advantages to having a band around him. "I'm definitely excited to be performing the music live, that's no question. But it's also been great
for all of us to draw on past experiences and give ourselves a bit of a running start. We know what we want and we intend to work hard until we get it. It's
been fun thus far, a pretty unpredictable path, so I can't wait to move forward from here with the band."
The band plans to continue writing and recording new material while performing live often. With all the pieces in place and tons of past experience, My
Jeremiah can efficiently move into the future with passion and conviction. Off they go -- expect fireworks.
