Tahireh and Terry teamed up in 2007 when they worked together on a musical short film (she was the performer and he was the writer/director). Almost a year later, they got their act together and started recording a plethora of new tunes; tunes about loveliness, loneliness, the peculiar nature of happiness, and those other things you think about when you can't get to sleep. We love writing and performing music more than anything, so that's what we shall do.
hehehe cheers dude! we shall have to organize a gig soon! we have a residency in august for monday nights at the empress, interested in doing a monday session?
thanks for your kind words about our site :D i wish it was my day job, i'm a designer by day, coder by night, musician in between (it's hectic as all crap) and nerdy as hell
web development is fun anyway! if only i could motivate myself to finish every project i start! including the band website!
thanks again for having us on sunday! the chance to play so many of our own songs is very rare at the moment and we are very grateful! i'm very sure we will run into each other again very soon, as so happens in this 'gigging' circuit- all the best in travels, music and life!
Hey yes I remember that! Corner of swanston on lonsdale I believe..
I had a browse of the various musical projects you're involved in on myspace, some real quality stuff there, nice work.
Things are quite well, about to record a new demo and trying to get back into the live music scene but really out of the loop so if you ever have any shows you need extra support acts for just shout out and I'd love to get involved!
Hey Terry. Dec drew the espy picture, I don't know if it's supposed to be him or not. The Spencers live gig was part of a battle of bands. Through Emergenza. We only sold 1 ticket and that was to Rick's dad, but made it to next round. I saw on the emergenza website that The Refunds made it through. Lovely.
Hey Tahireh! It's Sarah, Patricks girlfriend :) I am so sad we didn't actually get to meet eachother. But i am sure you managed to have a beautiful trip anyways! You need to know though, I fell absolutly in love with your music, It is just amazing. <33333
It just rolls off the tongue... Just Desserts! Bouncy and uplifting, you have that groove that makes the corners of ones mouth rise. It sounds corny but your music makes me smile! Hey Terry, Dana and I are traveling well, just attempting open mic gigs and about to sit down to try and record our songs (live continuous type recording). I would love to add more layers... i may need your assistance? Just Desserts have a beautiful sound. Cheers Tim
thanks for the kind words brother! love the refunds and looking forward to doing some more shows in the future! we're also playing tomorrow night (Thursday) at the Espy Basement would be great to see you there! peace
Hey, thanks for the friend request. We're taking requests for our music player at the moment if you want to put a vote in for a song you'd like to hear. Cheers, CB HQ
What lovely-feeling songs! Make me feel like a big hug! I wish I could come see you on Tues night but I already have supporting duties elsewhere. I'll definitely catch one soon though!
Melting Pot is all about the music - a good time for the audience and with drink prices to suit the budget, a chance for local live musicians to get exposure in a relaxed, friendly environment.
The “Round” concept has proven to be a very popular format overseas and it’s time Melbourne has one! The idea is to provide local singer-songwriters with a different type of performing environment – as though they’re performing in your living room with a P.A and a bar that serves awesome food.
Entry is just $5 for all 6 artists!!! My round starts at 8pm
Ah! Still is my favourite song of yours! Totally taking secret credit. :) They're all lovely! congrats. I would absolutely come to your gigs and sit front row... come tour canada? your description is awesome too, about the peculiarity of happiness that one ponders when not being able to sleep. I've still got a while to go for uni here, so there's little prospect of my seeing melbourne again for a while- which is sad. Thinking that I'll try to get into an arts film directing/writing masters program next year, are you in something similar? Hugs!! :) xx
