I play guitar in The War Office. Check us out at http://myspace.com/thewaroffice Most stuff here is just me. Occasionally Mike Fowler, Steve LaFleur, and whoever else that may cross my path.
Influences
Michael Hedges, The Church, Killing Joke, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Sr. and Jr., Joy Division, Black Flag, Everything But The Girl, Roxy Music, The Who, Sex Pistols, Chrome, Pretenders, Christian Death, Johnny Cash, Joe Walsh, Steely Dan, Chick Corea, Lloyd Cole and the Commotions (I hate his solo stuff), Oasis, Blur, The Jam (and pretty much anything Paul Weller has done), early Sisters of Mercy, Cornelius, etc.
I'm an instrumentalist. I play guitar, bass, Cajun accordion, and percussion. My experience has been playing country when I was a kid, crappy punk and rock bands when I was a teen, doing the DJ thing, pissing around in the studio, playing on Bourbon Street later in life, and now playing for myself, though I still play Cajun/Zydeco, R&B, New Orleans funk, and what-not in Bourbon Street and New Orleans clubs on occasion.
I write and play anything from punk, rock-a-billy, Cajun/zydedo, country, pub-rock, electronica, and whatever catches my fancy.
No interest in the music industry. I love playing live. I doubt that I'll be able to play my own music live for a while, so I'll just post my stuff here and continue walking around anonymously putting CDs in people's post boxes.
Enjoy. Hey, it doesn't cost anything, so I'm free to suck. :) If you like something I post, let me know.
On June 18th, a Thursday evening, my band along with 4 others will play Jammin' On The Trace '09. If you haven't heard about it, (or if I havent messaged you about it) it's a completley free, all ages show in Mandeville. It is rare that 5 rock groups play an all aged, free show on this side of the lake. Our band has been bustin' ass in the studio working on our EP with the owner of Orleans Records, it will be our first show in over a month, and might be our last show with the name of our band being "spacesTOmars". We have been working hard and we are really hoping for a nice crowd for this. If you are free on that Thursday evening, let me know. I hope to see you and anyone you bring out there. If we are one of the later bands, I hope to hang out with as many people as possible. So let me know if you can add to this amazing show! Peace & Love. THIS SHOW IS A WEEK FROM THURSDAY!
Just giving updates to the fans of our music. We currently only have live recordings from a year ago on our page. A lot has happend to us in that year. We lost our orginal drummer since he moved from Louisiana to Washington State, found a fantastic fill in drummer as well as a tenor sax and pianist, we played live for the first time on the radio, and we are currently working a deal with Orleans Records to record our first professional E.P. or maybe even album. Even though the recordings are live, some people love them and if you get the chance to stop by the page, we would love to hear more input from people. The fans are the ones that motivate us the most.
We hope to hear from you soon and enjoy your summer! Peace & Love.
