My Life on Hold introduces Silver Spring to Lower East Side punk.

The four dudes — Ken Allgood, Aaron Wertlieb, and Silver Springers Joey Fabulous and Stuart Wertlieb — churn out crunching guitar riffs and ballsy bass lines in classic garage-rock fashion.

“Flashing Lights” shows off the band’s punk influence while maintaining a booty-shaking beat. However, “Lonely Girl” takes its cues from the British Invasion and splices it with sick friggin’ rhythms.

In “Life on Hold,” the band straddles old-school punk and Soundgarden grunge, with ranting riffs and a heavier beat. The band swings their sound towards heavy metal with “Newsweek,” which has longer chords and a beat suitable for headbanging.
