I am interested in God’s Word, and I love Bible Quizzing. I love being with my family. I like to read & write. I love cats because they are so graceful, beautiful, and entertaining. I like chocolate, and especially dark chocolate, a bit too much. I like to crochet, I am hooked on kakuro puzzles (www.kakuroconquest.com) and I love learning new things. I am especially interested in learning more about history.

KANSAS was my favorite band for about 25 years, until I heard the NEWSBOYS and they got pushed down to 2nd place. I like music with meaningful and/or clever lyrics. I like to play CD’s really loud in my van when there is no one with me. My other favorite groups/performers are RELIANT K, BARLOW GIRL, SHAUN GROVES, SONIC FLOOD, TOBY MAC, DC TALK, CASTING CROWNS and the recently departed LARRY NORMAN. Oh, and my brother, STEVE SMITH (MR WA CAFÉ). I do NOT care for country, southern gospel or opera. I like classical music when I am in the mood for it, and my favorite classical composers are Tchaikovsky and Mozart...Movies

.. I have a new favorite movie and that is the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books and I had resisted seeing the movie because I didn't think Hollywood could do it justice, but it is wonderful!
I love all things Narnia and so The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian are high on my list of favorite movies. Other favorites are Ever After, Princess Bride, The Sound of Music, It’s a Wonderful Life, Dead Poet’s Society and all the Star Wars movies. Elephant Man made a deep impression on me and I would count it as one of my favorites but I never want to watch it again as it made me so angry the first time!

The television in our house is used for DVDs and video games. I watch Smallville in season, but other than that the TV is never on. In the past I've enjoyed I Love Lucy, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Christy.
Now that my kids are older I kind of miss Sesame Street.Books
My favorite genre is historical fiction, and I especially enjoy books by Bodie and Brock Thoene , Jean Plaidy, Judith Pella and Michael Phillips.
Other authors I enjoy are Francine Rivers, C.S. Lewis, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and Dr. Seuss.
Unfortunately the last four authors are dead and not producing new material.Heroes
My heroes are people who made a positive difference in the lives of others, and especially for the kingdom of God. JIM & ELIZABETH ELLIOT and the others who sacrificed so the Aucas could be reached with the gospel, GLADYS AYLWARD who persevered when so many people told her she couldn’t be a missionary, ELIZABETH BLACKWELL (first woman doctor in the US), HELEN KELLER who did not let her disabilities hold her back, THOMAS EDISON’S MOTHER , who did not believe it when his teacher told her he was “addled” but taught him at home, HARRIET TUBMAN who put herself in danger again and again so others would be free, MARK LUNSFORD who took a tragic circumstance and used it to help protect other children from sex offenders, and MISSIONARIES whose names I can’t tell you because they are in sensitive countries. The brave men and women in our ARMED FORCES who sacrifice so much for our freedom.
