The madeit independent Australian designers directory launched late October
2006 and the website has evolved into a comprehensive independent directory,
with over 130 independent designers listed and growing by the week. The madeit
directory takes the frustration out of finding new and independent talent on
the web, the directory also provides the designers with a means of getting publicity
for their website.
Evidence of the array of talent in Australia has led us to launch an affordable
e-commerce store solely for independent goods. Shop members are able to sell
their goods to every corner of Australia and the world. For more information

Along with the shop we will be adding a public forum (very soon) where you
can talk to other independent lovers, ask questions about a project or just
get to know the buyers and sellers on madeit.
Madeit's goal is to build a community that is friendly, inspiring and
rewarding for all it's members, sellers & buyers.
What does independent mean?
Independent refers to small, unique, boutique goods that are not found in department
stores. Similar to what is sold at high-quality markets. Independent also refers
to one off or small runs of handmade goods.
