Everything and nothing and all that goes on in between
My Majestic Star began as a solo recording project from Perth artist Chris Mason - the purpose of which was to experiment with guitars, samplers and keyboards to create music that was naturally allowed to evolve of it’s own volition. With a background in, and love for, shoegaze and post-rock, the result was a melding of fuzzed out ambiance and shimmering, haunting melodies that culminated in the release of the first MMS album "Ideas Are the Answer". Recorded entirely by Mason, the album was a collection of tracks meant to evoke interpretations in the listener that were entirely their own- music of a non-narrative nature that nevertheless seeks to tell a story or, more accurately, allow the listener to create their own. The self-titled follow up EP continued this ethic but also introduced pop elements into the mix.
With the recent release of the new album "Too Late, The Day", My Majestic Star has now taken the next step and evolved into a live act. With the addition of friends who also happen to be ridiculously talented musicians - Miriam Braun (Tragic Delicate), Stuart Medley (Benji, Fur Versions) and Jamie Hamilton (PB, M-16’s) – My Majestic Star live is rawer, more urgent and self-evolving than the recorded material. The purpose is to not simply play the songs as they have been recorded but to adapt them to a live environment – to allow them to take on a life of their own and develop with each performance.
My Majestic Star exists for a listener to create their own path in the music, to take what they hear and relate it to themselves, to create their own stories and come to their own conclusions. It may be wrong. It doesn’t matter. Listen and decide for yourself.

New Release from Section 27 Netlabel [S27-028] ADVIRUZ - NIGHTLY SOUNDS (IDM, Glitch, Experimental)
Adviruz is the artist pseudonym of Istanbul’s Pinar Gurcan, whose growing passion for sound is translated through her music. Since an early age, she has been listening and mimicking opera singers, writing melodies, songs and poems in which she spoke her mind and reflected her soul. All of which are evident on "Nightly Sounds", an 8 track album which is the equivilent of having a glimpse into a diary, learning of love lost, gained, a snapshot of the human condition from which we can all draw experience... All of these things are developed musically into minimalistic glitch, noise, idm, experimental music and microsounds, influences reminiscent of work by artists like Tujiko Noriko, Mira Calix, Plaid and Björk.
Adviruz and Section 27 present "Nightly Sounds", an intricately woven and rewarding musical tapestry. Available now for free download.
