Neye Benziyor?
If Guided By Voices had a threesome with Prince, and Van Halen, then took the love juices, and insemenated Sting (who was already sleeping with the members of Phish, Weezer and of Montreal) with them...then, had the baby and raised it by training he or she in the art of the Beatles....Capeesh?
Mongo is a power-pop jamband from Miami, Florida, consisting of former members of the Goods (Universal Music) and Crease (Roadrunner Records). Since solidifying their line-up as a five-piece in 2008, Mongo have been filling South Florida clubs from Coral Gables to Jupiter. The band's live show features a slew of danceable, singable originals and covers from their 500-plus song list, performed full-tilt and with a willingness to improvise. When you see Mongo play live, you can bet your sweet patootey that you’re in for an awesome time!! Members of the band have performed on stages across the country, from the Roxy and the Viper Room in LA, to the Mercury Lounge and the late CBGB’s in NY, as well as similar venues in Canada, Mexico and throughout South America. They have had music on rock radio stations, in video games, on HBO and in several films, including “Tom Dowd: The Language of Music,” and have been featured on MTV and VH1. Mongo is recording the follow-up to their critically acclaimed CD, The Revenge of Mongo, which they plan to release in the Spring of 2009.

oh, and btw, next month we'll have all new stuff up! new songs, pictures, layout, and shows!
New to the scene? Never played at Area 7? Show us what you've got!!
Starting Thursday May 14th "Who's Hot in Hollywood" will be hosting band audition night. This gives us a chance to hear you and match you with other bands for possible Friday or Saturday night gigs. If you have played Area 7 before but I haven't seen you yet, you can also sign up for a Thursday night audition. Audition nights will be scheduled by genre.
Please submit:
1-Band's name
2-Genre
3-Myspace/website
4-Photo and/or logo
5-Band members names, ages, and instruments
6-Audio and/or video samples
I will contact you with date and time slots available. Try to have at least 5 songs prepared. We expect you to treat this like a regular show with full promotion, and advertising to bring your fans out. If you can't bring people to come out to see you it is unfair to the club owner and the other bands who do bring people.
(PLEASE, do not call my cell phone! Texting is much prefered:)
Better yet just send me emails so I have a record of our conversations)
a buddy of mine wanted me to forward this message to you... we rented a limo for his birthday, and your cd was the cd of choice by basically everybody for the night. You guys should consider coming up and doin a couple gigs around st. augustine. it would probably be the highlight of our semester. let me know what you think
