I used to hear that I did a pretty good Robert Plant. They gave me a nickname around the karaoke circuit back in 1994 or so, they called me "Robert". - What a cool nickname! Thank You for comparing me to my all time favorite singer. In my all time favorite band. That's a huge compliment.
I have also heard that I sound a bit like like Eddy Vedder (Pearl Jam).
When I was a bit younger and chose to sing the songs, I could reproduce Axel Rose pretty closely. ...I don't choose to sing those songs anymore... lol.
I still hear that I sound like Sammy Hagar or Scott Stapp and I've even heard that I sound like Chris Cornell. To be considered among these huge names is amazing! Yet I don't try to sound like anyone. "I do what I do" and let you be the judge. I just hope you like the mess I make.
I don't really try to sound like other artists when I sing. If I'm singing a cover song, I will try to immulate some of the original artist inflection. How they curve phrases or go sharp on a chorus or whatever... I will often add in my own 'slight' improv in places. You can spot those because I'll do it every time we do the song.

The Dragon Rider was born from my love for Halloween. This costume is a custom creation that I built basically from scratch with nothing more than a silly idea and too much time on my hands. I call him Levi and he's my pet dragon. I have competed in many costume contests and won serveral big ones with my fairy tale friend. I've even worked at Netherworld as a roaming attraction. My most cherished accomplishment to this point with "The Dragon Rider" is having won "BEST IN SHOW" @ Dragon*Con in 2005, my only appearance at this amazing pop culture event. You can see a few of those photos on the official Dragon*Con.org web site. Levi comes out every Halloween and even the neighborhood I live in is a buzz with anticipation of seeing the dragon roaming the streets on Halloween. Levi is a great deal of fun.
I was born to entertain and there's not much that I enjoy more than performing in a live setting. (Outside of being a father of course)
I love to perform. I've performed in over 200 shows since January of 2005. I love to feel the energy from the crowd. When you're in front of me during a performance, I want to move you with my words and my actions. I want YOU to FEEL MY performance. I'm one to walk out into the crowd and let anybody that's singing along join in on the mic with me. I am a serious musician but I still make it a point to have fun and enjoy the craft. It's important that YOU, my listening audience, enjoys the show too. That is what's most important. I perform to entertain. I perform because I really believe that it's what I was born to do.
