Music
My taste is so eclectic that it would be impossible (and very dull reading) to list all the musical forms / musicians I like. However, lots of them are the artists featured in my 'friends' on the right; most of them I don't know but one or two I've had the pleasure of designing an album or single for (and many that I'd love to). Lots of them don't have official myspaces (so they're not pictured) but some of my favourites are (in no particular order): Prince / David Bowie / Kate Bush / Ryan Adams / Wilco / Jimmy Webb / Rickie Lee Jones / Tom Waits / Jan Garbarek / David Sylvian / Rufus Wainwright / Chris Isaak / Miles Davis / Bill Evans / Joni Mitchell / Josh Rouse / Mark Isham / Lambchop / Michel Petrucciani / Jack Bruce / Robert Palmer / Keith Jarrett / The Flaming Lips / Michael Franks / Antonio Carlos Jobim / Stephen Bishop / James Taylor / Paul Simon / Art Garfunkel / Neil Young / Beck / Randy Newman / José Mercé / Niña Pastori / Antonio Carmona & Ketama / Miguel Bosé / Iggy Pop / David Byrne / James Grant (Love & Money) / Pat Metheny / Stevie Wonder / Todd Rundgren / The Blue Nile / Roddy Frame & Aztec Camera / Jeff Buckley / Eg White / Radiohead / Doves / Danny Wilson / Scritti Politti / Charles Trenet / Craig Armstrong / E.S.T....

Heroes
My mum: Isabella Patterson (Brown) Ross - 1926 - 2007
For those of you who have stumbled upon my myspace by accident... My name is Ian Ross and since the mid eighties I've lived and worked in London as a graphic designer. Until a few years ago I worked solely as an album sleeve designer at Bill Smith Studio. I'm still as passionate about this as I ever was and these days I do them under my own name having set up my own studio in 2008. The work you see in the slideshows here are highlights from the past 20 years both during my time at BSS and since then.
I hope to keep you up to date with current projects, past glories and anything else I think may interest you.
Thanks for looking. BTW: I've put a few more past favourites in my pics (past works folder). If you'd like to know more about anything you see, drop me a message. Hope you like them.

Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who likes the designs you see here and would like one for their music.

"At last a follow up to Janette Mason's sparkling debut as leader. Alien Left Hand ....was well worth the wait…” Production **** Performance**** -- BBC Music Magazine
“…an album fizzing with fresh ideas and delights, an exhilarating musical journey .. with brilliantly original writing and inspired playing…” -- Helen Mayhew
"Every track from the rhythmic ‘NY Cab Ride’ and restless ‘4 Wheel Drive’ to the brooding ‘Mae’s Song’ has a terrific hook but it’s the way Mason switches tempo and moods that makes ALH great fun. " -- Diva Magazine
