My Own Voice was born in 2001 from the idea of Marco (bass and vocals) and Luca (guitar), two 16 year old friends that share a deep passion for hardcore. After meeting the drummer Monzi, we start writing the first songs and playing the first shows around Milano. We focus on a very fast old school hardcore with many new school influences, inspired by bands such as Raised Fist, Strife and so on. The first ep "My Own Voice" is recorded in the same year, and though it's really lo-fi shit after a while it earns the band a proposal from Rudy Indigesti's Vacation House Records: the first full length album "The dinner of the ashes" is released in spring 2003. Many line-up changes slow things down: first Paolo takes Monzi's place at the drums, then Augu enters at the bass guitar, and Richi, an old friend of My Own Voice's, joins the band as side guitar, just to become the main and only guitarist when Luca decides to give up due to many engagements. Whew! and then Paolo leaves the band and Fede takes his place. In 2004 we record a new song, "Invisible Monsters" for the punk compilation of the webzine kronic.it. Live gigs go on around Italy and Europe, lots of sweat and passion, little audience but the few the proud the crucial hey! In spring 2006 we record our new album "De Ira", published in march 2007 with the help of Weirdo Records, Full Of Hate Records, Casa Perno and Blacklist Records. It is the result of two years of work and of all the experiences we had as persons and as a hardcore band. Years keep rolling by, and we hope we will still be here screaming in front of 20 people for a long long time.

No we don't exist for a while now...There were always some issues with our singer and in the end it was too fucked up to stay together, we had to cancel the tour, but the other band got a new band to go with them so that they dint have to cancel too...at least this is ok. Too bad you couldn't come to slovenia this week it's a hell of a festival, but I'm probably not going because I'm to damn lazy at the moment and my leg is fucked up from bmx..But if you would come that wouldn't stop me from chilling with you;) Anyways I always wanted to try surfing, I envy you so bad man...I hope you'll have a blast in monacco! I love it when you write me so don't stop;) Hope to see you soon brother!
