About me:

While I read and marvel at other poets, I do not write for other poets. I write for readers who have not lost the inner child, or who need a little help bringing it back from the dead or darkest places where the little ones huddle on lampless streets. Better subscribe because I do not post bulletins about my poetry blog entries. Or, better yet, check in once in a while. Thanks for smiling along.

Note: if we friend up and my subscribers and views stay the same, I purge like Stalin. Without a qualm.

neither wagon nor vessel to escape this infamous net- Baudelaire

Italo Calvino: "my working method has more often than not involved the subtraction of weight. I have tried to remove weight, sometimes from people, sometimes from heavenly bodies, sometimes from cities; above all I have tried to remove weight from the structure of stories and from language."

--once a Speculative Fiction and Horror Fan (since '61 or so, see mmw50.com and, yes, there is a CD of my horror poetry for sale there or at THE BOOK COLLECTOR shop in Sacramento but the MP3s are freely available on the site --

--I attend WisCon-- a candlepower center of the USA for one weekend a year. I'm not an easy pickup on Myspace. I try to make it worth any surfer's while here with original "myspace is my mimeo" poetry in the raw. I don't mind short term subscribers--ins and outs, like Bly's "unfaithful stars" and comments are appreciated --like signing a guestbook. I'm not into reciprocal subs but will check you out, and if you are in my friends list I will follow your blog, off and on. It's the fun of being here. And if I just hear from someone who heard that you said something nice about my poems or that there's some respect for the effort to please, well, you're a bud. Otherwise, eh, nice seeing your pic. Please remember, what's posted here is pre-copy edited mud, slopped with little care before the troweling.
As it is, we're just ships passing and lorries honking signifying little except net neighborliness. And who really knows their neighbors anymore? If you actually help your neighbors or neighborhood, instead of pissing on it, then you're probably leaving it better than you found it and have my astonished respect. ~evan "mikey" myquest

Who I'd like to meet:

Longview long tail globalist, spec-fic and feminist writers, and other artsy non-herd-following free-radicals who think there're better ways than military hierarchy structures to get work done or capitilistic methods to reward only work and not art ..

    …Blurred a waist high river
    foam against the horse
    riding naked clothes and boots
    and pistol in the air

    Crossed a crooked river
    loving in my head
    ambled dry on stubble
    shot a crooked bird

    Held it in my fingers
the eyes were small and far
it yelled out like a trumpet
    destroyed it of its fear…

Much thanks - since my last two works have gone out limited edition I get very few comments about what I do. We all need to hear it once in a while.

Hope you're having a good weekend. I don't go back to work until Wednesday so I've been splitting time between reading, writing and making my gf happy (not in that order).

    :)
