   About Myra Marshall
Thanks for finding me on MySpace. /// Though most of the instruments on my 2 demo recordings have been sequenced, I gig with a live 4-piece. We are "The Myra Marshall Band". Occasionally I work as a duo with my guitarist, performing background music and dinner entertainment at venues such as business mixers, open houses, grand openings, etc. under the name "Fundamental Things". Nothing beats the feeling of playing to a rockin’ crowd though, so I love the band scene. I am very excited, though, to announce that, starting in May, 2007, my great friend, Cora (who actually got me started in music), and I began booking some gigs together in more relaxed venues. /// The Myra Marshall Band performs a variety of covers ranging from blues, rock, country, funk, pop, roots, and contemporary light jazz and are suited to most any venue. That being said, I especially love blues, country, and rock. /// I first started fronting bands in 2001. Before that I sang mostly to pre-recorded tracks or as a duo with my good friend, Cora. Coming from a background of contemporary Christian and country music, the thought of fronting The Johnny Kool Blues Band terrified me. I guess they saw potential and that was the best thing that happened to me vocally. Opening my eyes and ears to the realization of "hey, I can do this" and now I’ve lost a lot of the fear of the unknown and replaced it with a desire for new challenges. /// I have been working for an Edmonton based songwriter as his demo singer. "Remember That Night" on my audio player is one of my demo projects for this songwriter, Darin Steckler. Studio work is something I take great pleasure in and hope to eventually pick up more freelance work in that area, both as a lead or harmony vocalist. It would also be great if I could get work as a call artist for other performers as a fill-in background vocalist for live shows. /// I believe that music is something very personal and therefore people should listen to what they want because they love it, not because their friends say it’s cool. Just be yourself and let the music be a part of expressing that. /// Hopefully you’ll get the chance to see us somewhere live in the Camrose area and when you do, I hope you enjoy the show. Much love and peace. ~~Myra Marshall~~

Hi Myra, the song on my page is an old project... I recorded it back in Sweden on a 4 track tape recorder when I was 18 or so. Almost 20 years ago!
