HEY GUYS MY NEW RINGTONE IS HERE PLEASE CHECK IT OUT!
Sounds Like
Have been told: Grace Slick, Janis Joplin, Shakira?? Hugh Cabello is my brother. Let me know what you think and I will gladly write it here. I'm honored just to think I sound like anybody. Honestly, I just love to perform!
"To say Myrna can sing is like saying nuclear warheads can be dangerous. In fact, this woman doesn’t sing; she belts. Her lyrics and lungs are instruments of pure, raw emotion. She’s a Latino firecracker who writes blues and rock and sings them with soul. I enjoyed her show immensely. I didn’t want it to end." Mike Maranhas, author, RE'NEV
Fellow Latina singer Patricia Vonne says, "Myrna Cabello's exuberance onstage is fiery and contagious. She's a multi-talented artist whose innovative mix of Latin Blues Rock is helping to pave the way for other Latinas."
Billy Garza in SW Blues Magazine says "Whether you prefer Tex-Mex, home cooking or a hot spicy dish with a tequila chaser, Cabello is sure to satisfy the appetite of any audience on hand."
ABOUT THE BAND
Myrna based in Austin, TX blends a brew of blues, rock, soul, and latin beats in English and Spanish, as well as a fusion of both languages. Her accomplishmensts include being featured as one of the best Austin artists you’ve never heard of (but will) in the Austin American Statesman XLent.
She was also showcased at the Texas Music Museum and honored as a Tejana artist. This is why The City of Austin declared it Myrna Cabello Day on May 18th, 2006. Myrna has also been showcased on ME-TV with Patricia Vonne, Rosie Flores, and Mary Welch LIVE from Threadgill’s, performed at the Las Comadres national convention, Bayfest, Pecan Street Festival, KLBJ Local Licks Live, KOOP and KBSO radio and live on Channel 36 and Channel 8 News in Austin.
Other performances include Jovita’s, Threadgill’s, Victory Grill, Mother Egan’s, The Iron Cactus, El Rincon, Nuevo Leon for the Cepeda Music Garden Benefit, La Palapa, Giddy Ups, Baby Acapulco’s, Old Ross’ Cafe, The Cesar Chavez March Festival at Café Mundi and as a special guest singing the National Anthem for the Texas Roller Girls.
