Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, The incomparable Nasrudin, who is a character in oral and written stories: sometimes he is the wise man and at others the fool. He is known by different names, but he always is the 'foolish' wise person and shows us by his antics who we are. Most cultures have their version. You can find him in Irish, Turkish, Jewish, Sufi, African and other "Land of Fool Stories". A Nasrudin story: "Why do you ask so many questions?" someone asked him. "Do I?" was his reply. Nasrudin was throwing bread crumbs outside his London flat. "Why are you doing that", a neighbour asked him. "To keep the tigers at bay he replied.' "But there aren't any tigers here". 'That's right," said Nasrudin, "Effective isn't it?'

About me:

I am a painter, short, community documentary film and animation maker, storyteller, and have co-written and illustrated stories for beginner readers. The themes of all my film, art and written work are to do with love and relationships with yourself another person or with the world. Stories speak to the human heart. They speak to us through humour and metaphor in a way that mere words cannot do. We remember stories as they stimulate our imagination, transport us to other places and times and touch our emotions. Filming for me is a visual story that has to have an emotional content, to make visible the invisible, the unheard a voice. .. Look at the retelling of Greek Myths, stories for beginner readers by Hazel Riley and Myrna Shoa, who also illustrated them. an experimental animation film part one of a series by Myrna Shoa

Who I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet people making community films or animations.
