Band MembersWell, besides me, there's just basically Kristen. Any really cool-sounding piano parts were most likely played by her. Guest musicians appear as needed, but usually it's less complicated if I just do it myself.
Influences
  • The Beatles (I don't care, I HAVE to say it!)
  • Henry Mancini
  • Johnny Cash
  • Radiohead

Sounds Likea lot of very different things, depending entirely upon which song you are listening, but basically much of 20th (& 21st) Century popular music has some kind of representation. I'm a schizo. Sue me.

   About Myron Schulz
First, I was born. Then I grew. Then I grew some more, and then I began singing, because the music was IN me, man. After that came a desire to learn the guitar, because that's COOL, man. This was about age nine.

Time passes. I'm a teenager now, so I start writing songs. They're relatively sub-par (but I mean RELATIVELY, y'know?), yet something... AWAKENS in me, man. I mean like, 13-year-old, guitar, AWAKENED to the MUSIC, let's write some SONGS, y'know?

Well, by the time high school rolls around, I'm ready to ROCK, man. So I start a band. Pretty cool. Little White Honda. That's the band name. Way cool. Do some stuff, lay down some tracks, y'know - make a tape (a TAPE, man) called Training Wheels in '96, then a disc called Roadmap in '97. Band breaks up, I move on. Hey, I'm just rollin' with it, y'know? Rockin' and a-rollin'.

Meet some cool guys in '99, we start The (freakin') PETS, man. Oh yeah. Check 'em out. They're my friend. We do some SERIOUS BUSINESS with a COMPUTER and burp out Love & War in 2000. Y2K? HECK, yeah.... SERIOUS tunage.

Life keeps rockin' and a-reelin' and a-rollin' right along and then BAM! There's the Waking Eyes. That's right. THE Waking Eyes, man. A little effort produces a palpable headrush we dub: Combing the Clouds. 2002 now. The rock is cool, the music is happ'nin... Then I quit the band. Hey man, roll with the punches, y'know?

I found true love, man. Her name's Kristen. We settled down and started workin' on a little BROOD, y' dig? Kaya and Billie. My golden angel girls. Then I met this guy... no, I met THE MAN Jon Parks. We rocked some tunes as The Turncoats for a spell, but we had to go our own ways, y'know? Now I feel the music with my baby by my side. The last couple years we worked on a little project called The Most, but we had to move on. But not before leaving a legacy of RIGHTEOUS TUNAGE in our wake.

So anyways, I hear it, I feel it, I write it, I play it, I sing it, I record it, and I pass the savings on to you, man. Simple. Peace be unto you and yours.

Amigo,

We just got hooked up on high speed internet so that we can actually listen to a song without it stopping every few seconds. It's a whole new world! So I finally got to listen all the way through "Strollin'". This is essential Schulz all the way. I dig the line "the key I'm playing is a major". I dig that wild piano playing as well. Kudos to you both!

Myron,

What can I say? I'm honoured to have been included in your biography. Nay, I'm humbled, terribly humbled. I was going through some old Pro Tools sessions of you and I goofin' around on some stuff way back when. I should send it to you. Maybe someday in the future when our kids are off to college we'll get back together and crank out some sweet album.

I'll just take upon myself the honour of being the first person to comment on this page. I do have a slight quibble with your bio, Myron. I mean, it's entertaining sure enough, but you left out the pivotal moment, the moment where all the pieces fell into place, the moment when Myron truly became Myron. I'm talking about the day Jon Parks rolled into town. I would appreciate it if you included that in there, for the sake of historical accuracy. I've got some other issues too, but I'll let those slide for now.

I hope the wee ones are doing well, my friend. Christy and I are taking pre-natal classes right now. We have to watch all these videos of babies being born. Man, that's some crazy stuff!

Talk to you later,

Jon
