First, I was born. Then I grew. Then I grew some more, and then I began singing, because the music was IN me, man. After that came a desire to learn the guitar, because that's COOL, man. This was about age nine.
Time passes. I'm a teenager now, so I start writing songs. They're relatively sub-par (but I mean RELATIVELY, y'know?), yet something... AWAKENS in me, man. I mean like, 13-year-old, guitar, AWAKENED to the MUSIC, let's write some SONGS, y'know?
Well, by the time high school rolls around, I'm ready to ROCK, man. So I start a band. Pretty cool. Little White Honda. That's the band name. Way cool. Do some stuff, lay down some tracks, y'know - make a tape (a TAPE, man) called Training Wheels in '96, then a disc called Roadmap in '97. Band breaks up, I move on. Hey, I'm just rollin' with it, y'know? Rockin' and a-rollin'.
Meet some cool guys in '99, we start The (freakin') PETS, man. Oh yeah. Check 'em out. They're my friend. We do some SERIOUS BUSINESS with a COMPUTER and burp out Love & War in 2000. Y2K? HECK, yeah.... SERIOUS tunage.
Life keeps rockin' and a-reelin' and a-rollin' right along and then BAM! There's the Waking Eyes. That's right. THE Waking Eyes, man. A little effort produces a palpable headrush we dub: Combing the Clouds. 2002 now. The rock is cool, the music is happ'nin... Then I quit the band. Hey man, roll with the punches, y'know?
I found true love, man. Her name's Kristen. We settled down and started workin' on a little BROOD, y' dig? Kaya and Billie. My golden angel girls. Then I met this guy... no, I met THE MAN Jon Parks. We rocked some tunes as The Turncoats for a spell, but we had to go our own ways, y'know? Now I feel the music with my baby by my side. The last couple years we worked on a little project called The Most, but we had to move on. But not before leaving a legacy of RIGHTEOUS TUNAGE in our wake.
So anyways, I hear it, I feel it, I write it, I play it, I sing it, I record it, and I pass the savings on to you, man. Simple. Peace be unto you and yours.
