yo have to agree with the post a few spots down...I MISS THE SOUND GARDEN.... RICK WTF? Althought the show I was involved with didnt last long because of a number of unforunate circumstances I miss it.. I hate that stupid ass sign to..
As I drive by the ole Sound Garden on a Friday night, it saddens me to see it has become such a desolate place. I am truly sorry that you had gotten the place to where it was and no one knows now what it would have become. It is sad that NOTHING is happening there now. What a waste! and how embarrassing it must be to have an empty parking lot every Friday and Saturday night. I have stopped my inquiries for your sake but when you are ready to do it again, just let me know.
Amen on your blog! I only saw one show there, but loved it! I went to the We Shot The Moon show with Sherwood and The Higher. Although the size of the crowd was very disappointing I found there to be no problems with the sound and had a blast. Are there still shows going on there? I tried to pull up your calendar a while back but couldn't.
You know, the idea you came up for The Rocky Horror Picture Show has been running through my head for the past few days. I would love to see that happen for Halloween... hope all is well for you right now. Take Care
Very sorry to see that The Sound Garden is suspening operation. I'd looked forward to the possibility that we'd be involved in some shows there. From everything I've heard about the venue, you did it that right way, and really gave the bands and the fans a great experience.
Best of luck in all that you do in the future!

The My Buddy Todd Band was something that I have wanted to do for long time, the Soundgarden allowed me the opportunity to do just that. For that, I can not thank you enough. The most fun we have had to date as a band has been at the SoundGarden, your staff made us feel at home, and made us sound awesome. Thanks for helping to keep the Blues alive.
I visited the Sound Garden on 3 seperate occassions, of course I had a motive, my son plays bass for Hot Lava Monster. All I heard from the guys was how well they were treated there. Also, I was able to bring my younger son, who is 19, 2 times and there was no grief about him being there. It was well worth the drive from Florence to be at your club. As a supporter of the local music scene I am disappointed in how difficult it is for bands to find quality venues. These musicians work there asses off to be the best they can but there are too few places like the Sound Garden where they can show the fruits of their labor and be appreciated. In addition the Sound Garden was one of the few places who respected the younger music lovers who will one day be the bread and butter of their generation. Anyway, I hope to see the Sound Garden resurrected and prospering in the future, when it is, I will be there. Thanks for everything. One last comment, the staff was always pleasant and professional as well. Hats off to you all!
So sorry it didn't work out for you...I know what your feeling right now. People just don't realize the time, effort, and the dedication that goes into running a business like this. I'm talking about 16 hour days every day!(I know you can relate to that) The Limelight and The Social were my life for 4 years. I never expected to get rich but a paycheck(even a modest one)would have been nice for all of my effort. It was a huge investment which I ended up loosing in the end to a couple of thieves from NC. All in all it was a great experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I met so many wonderful people...made some great friends and saw my share of amazing bands...But I sure as hell wouldn't do it again! I know now that providing a venue with a dedicated stage and thousands of dollars worth of top of the line sound equipment. Bringing in National Acts and giving local bands the opportunity to share a stage with them just wasn't enough. Instead of supporting the venues that had supported them and helped them grow, the majority of the local bands all had their hand out at the end of the night. So what it came down to was if you didn't have a show nobody showed up. If you did have a show not only did you pay the touring bands but the locals want their cut too. So whats left to keep the venue running? Nothing! I'm sorry but until the people involved in the MB music scene realize you can't run a business on good intentions there will be no venues. And the truth is this town dosen't even deserve one!
MB loses another music venue. The local bands will go back to playing all the clubs that don't give a crap about how they sound. The same clubs that are happy it closed down. Maybe someday all the bands will sit down and wonder why they don't have a venue like all the other towns. Something was happening and you all felt it. Here's to Rick and everything he tried.
