Seems like too many name! Early on, The Who, The Beatles, The Kinks, Cream, Simon and Garfunkel, Phil Keaggy, Joe Walsh, Peter Frampton, Neil Young, C.S.N, Fogelberg, Bruce Cockburn, and so many others. Kind of skipped over the late '70's, and started listening to post punk and New Wave. From there went to jazz, and the singer songwriters - and found myself listening to everything from John Gorka to Jann Arden to the Gin Blossoms. Still love "alternative" music, whatever that is, but now I go between my John Scofield, Miles, Chet, JC, and Kathleen Edwards CD's and music I've gotten from my kids - Just Surrender, Thursday, Search the City, Chiodos, Paramore, etc. Plus a few guilty pleasures I won't admit to....
Basically, I love most forms of guitar based music. Plus a whole lot of everything else. Been around the block a few times, too. Thankfully, I have kids who play music and they bring in lots of new music for me to hear. I'm just starting this page, so check back sometime. I'm looking to connect with like minded musicians, so send me an "add". I've been out of the local music loop for a bit and would like to get back involved in making live music. I play guitar, both lead and rhythm style stuff depending on genre, and can write and sing some. Stylewise, my own playing is pretty straight forward and "rooted", with some subtlety and sensitivity thrown in I hope. Not a burner, but then again I've never looked at music as a note race.
At the very least, I'm interested in hearing what other people are doing. Introduce me to your music if you like.
I'm commenting that I am tired of seeing your last comment from April, so I'm adding this comment in the hopes of triggering a juggernaut of commentary...........
Happy New Year! I went to see the exhibit friday night, it was a great exhibit but there was to many people, but its my fault for waiting to long. I hope everything is going well for you!
SWEET! I would love to show you the town. OH MAN, if I showed you my Portland, you would never want to leave. Let me know when you want to come out, you've got a place to stay. Nothin' fancy mind you. But, I'm not kidding when I say that I have the most comfortable couch you've ever been on. Anyway, I really want to catch up man. Lotta life to cover.
when/where can I hear a recording of you. Something recent? Love to see/hear what you're up to. You can hear a lot of my band stuff at www. kdband. net. I've got 40+ MP3's up there. send me your address and i'll mail you a copy of my new live CD.
I can't tell you how happy I am to have found you on MySpace!! I want to spend hours catching up and filling in and seeing how you are. I tried to get a hold of you last year when I came back for a visit (the first time in about 7 years). I love that you're still playing and being a musician. You were always one of my most favorite guitarists. I love seeing that your boys followed in your footsteps. My daughter is doing the same. 12 year old chick, totally into playing her guitar as loudly as she can.
Much much love to you Terry, miss you tons and hope to hear back from you soon.
