MySpace a place for friends

This problem may be solved by clearing your cache.

Instructions for doing this:

1. In Control Panel, open Internet Options.Click the General tab, and then under Temporary Internet files, click Delete Files and Cookies.In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the Delete all offline content check box if you want to delete all Web page content that you have made available offline.Click OK.
2. Close browser and try again or check for your browser instructions here:

Try going to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_version=ShockwaveFlash and downloading the newest version of Flash 9.

Please change the password that you use for MySpace.com and the email address that you use as your MySpace.com login. This should prevent any further intrusion into your account. In the future, please be wary of any suspicious web pages (websites that claim to provide ‘’trackers’’, ‘’trains’’, and/or custom layouts), or instant messages that ask for any sort of login information. Never leave yourself logged in at a public terminal, and never give your login information to a third party – also, please always check the web address for myspace.com when asked to re-login.

If you receive a “Sorry! An unexpected error has occurred” prompt, or a notice that your profile is ‘’undergoing routine maintenance’’ when attempting to login, just sit tight. There’s nothing wrong with your account or profile. The problem will be fixed within a few moments and you’ll be able to access your profile again without a problem.

If you receive an "error has occurred when trying to send this message", try to clear any previous messages between yourself and the user – or, try to send a new message instead of replying to an existing message. This should clear the problem

If you receive a message from this page regarding a specific change to your profile (change of age, deleted photos, removed comments, copyright notice, etc), do not reply to the message. Those notices are generated from this page to ensure that you’ll read updates to your profile via your inbox. However, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please use our Contact Form to ensure that your enquiry will reach the correct department. Otherwise, your questions will not be addressed.

Usually this error is due to the absence of a group Moderator. Once a moderator has deleted their account, or relinquished the group, the group may appear as ‘’invalid’’. You can contact us with a link/URL to the group and we’ll remove it from the site permanently.

Check the HTML coding on your profile page. Your profile may suddenly change and/or appear different due to an incorrect HTML code. Make sure that you haven’t used HTML improperly (i.e., forgot to close a tag, etc.) under “Safe Mode”, or that someone hasn’t added a malicious HTML code as a comment on your page. Sometimes an embedded code will also attach to your profile once you view an infected page. Review all of your coding, and if you cannot isolate the problem, try to wipe out your entire page of any HTML. That should clear the problem.

Friend counts on MySpace are often inaccurate. For example, if it appears that you have 400 friends, chances are you do not. This discrepancy is due to a delay in updating friend counts when users are deleted from MySpace. Once we update the count, it may appear that you suddenly lost a lot of friends. However, the loss is actually a reflection on how many friends you’ve lost since the last time we updated the count.

This discrepancy is due to users deleting their profiles/accounts from MySpace. Once an account is removed from our database, it’ll take a few days to completely delete from the site. We run database jobs to fix the counts so you'll see the numbers change in due time. If you check your ''edit friends'' section, you may notice that some of your friends have deleted their profiles. You'll view a ''This user has been deleted'' notice, or "Profile No Longer Exists" prompt. The users that appear to have been removed are, indeed, deleted from MySpace.com.
