Mystery Machine is a geelong based psychedelic rock band. Started originally by Josh Cornwall and Evan Jones, with Cameron Urquhart soon joining on bass. For over a year the original trio worked on covers of such bands as The Beatles and Cream while also trying to create their own unique and original sound. Continuously jamming and recording demos, they built their songwriting talents, and let go of older songs to put in place newer and better tracks. Mystery Machine applied for a battle of the bands which required them to record a track to be previewed, to do this they enlisted the help of Cameron's bass teacher Zac Barter, using his studio and also having him play drums for the recording. Although not making it into the competition this recording convinced friend Martin Lawrence to join the band as the full time drummer. Since then Mystery Machine has recorded a 5 track EP of originals and played at venues such as The Anglesea Hotel and The Potato Shed, as well as having been played on The Pulse and SYN. Mystery Machine was recently joined by Darcy Thomson, who took over duties on drums.
