The dawn always keeps secrets. It symbolizes the periodic transition from the night to the day. As smooth as this transition, many things in our daily life come along in the same blurred way. Sunrises never repeat themselves. They widely differ in their appearance and often show new facets. As beautiful these moments are as soon they fade away.
The ambition of MYSTERY OF DAWN is being mysterious as well as versatile. Hereby our music is influenced by the elements of Synthipop, EBM, Industrial, Dark Wave and Techno too. As a result the compositions differ in their mood and their color in the same way the dawn does.
The project founded in the year 2000 is capable to create an atmosphere with its very own style which touches the heart and soul of the audience. Drifty beats, frisky sequences, catchy themes, intense bass lines and various vocals make MYSTERY OF DAWN a stand alone project. They avoid meeting stereotypes and stand out of the current main stream.
MYSTERY OF DAWN is supported by Holm Mika who gives a special organic note by adding the sounds of his guitar.
MYSTERY OF DAWN already did perform together with well known bands like APOPTYGMA BERZERK, TANZWUT, CAMOUFLAGE, WELLE ERDBALL, UMBRA ET IMAGO, MESH and PROJECT PITCHFORK. Hereby the particular charisma could be shown. The audience could be convinced and was carried along throughout the complete event. Thereby Stephan can implicate the listener to its own world of ideas. At the same time he jollies the crowd along.
So far MYSTERY OF DAWN has published three albums. The first one is named "edge of dawn" and is quiet frisky due to the fact that all band members had to find their own style. The second album "moments" was recorded in March 2001 in the own sound studio and is more sophisticated. With this album MYSTERY OF DAWN has found their versatile style for now and made this sound highly recognisable. In the year 2004 the "LOST" single was released and is distributed by Indigo.
This year the long expected album "AUGENLICHT" will be released. Some tracks are influenced by Synthipop and dark wave while others are more affected by pop & rock. Even industrial sounds can be identified in some songs. Especially at this album is the extensive cover which includes a booklet of 20 pages. In this booklet the photo series "Augenblick" is enclosed which forms together with the songs a phenomenal synthesis of art. Exceptional no pictures of nude woman can be found on this album.
For MYSTERY OF DAWN not only the sound is important but also the complete arrangement and presentation of this album. Since the project "AUGENLICHT" evolved over many years it will be interesting how this will accepted by the audience.
So finally - where is your eyesight ?
After a long time, somethings going on in Mystery of Dawn. Fortunately we
are going to finish the recording of AUGENLICHT next weeks. The extensive
artwork of the cover we are going to design in April. The CD will be about
80 min and will include darker elements than the Lost EP again.
Furthermore we are producing an unplugged CD with acoustic guitar and
saxophone named Rüdiger .. Because our guitar player Mika is a blues
man and rocker, I decided to do him a favour and so we interpret the songs
in his way. But because this style is quite untypical in this scene, we
decided to extend this break of style on the whole CD including cover and
name. So we could find 2 students, who design Manga comics for the cover. We
are quite curious, how we look as Manga figures ( www.kasukasu.de ).

Der Sonnenaufgang birgt immer Geheimnisse in sich. Er stellt zyklisch den Übergang von der Nacht in den Tag dar. So fliessend, wie diese Grenze verläuft, so fliessend begegnen uns viele Dinge, die wir nicht eindeutig abgrenzen können. Die Sonnenaufgänge sind ebenfalls nicht gleich. Sie können sehr vielfältig in ihrer Atmosphäre bzw. Stimmung sein. So schön dieser Moment auch ist, so vergänglich ist er.
MYSTERY OF DAWN hat sich das Ziel gesetzt, sowohl geheimnisvoll als auch vielfältig zu sein. Dabei werden verschiedene Elemente des Synthpop, EBM, Industrial, Dark Wave und auch technoide Einflüsse gebraucht. Heraus kommen völlig verschiedene Stücke, die in ihrer Stimmung ebenso vielseitig sind wie die Morgendämmerung.
Stephan, der das Projekt im März 2000 ins Leben gerufen hat, schafft es aufgrund seiner jahrelangen musikalischen Erfahrung durch seine andere Band MIRROR INSIDE, eine Atmosphäre aufzubauen, die tief ins Herz und in den Geist geht. Treibende Beats, verspielte Sequenzen, eingängige Melodien, fette Basslines und vielfältiger Gesang machen MYSTERY OF DAWN zu einem eigenständigen Projekt, was sich scheut, Klischees zu erfüllen und sich dem Einheitsbrei anzuschliessen.
Unterstützung erfährt MYSTERY OF DAWN durch Holm Mika, der mit seiner Gitarre dem Ganzen eine zusätzliche organische Komponente verleiht.
MYSTERY OF DAWN kann auf zahlreiche Konzerte zurückblicken(2002 APOPTYGMA BERZERK, TANZWUT, CAMOUFLAGE,WELLE ERDBALL, UMBRA ET IMAGO, MESH etc., 2004 PROJECT PITCHFORK), bei denen sie ihre Ausstrahlung unter Beweis stellen und das Publikum überzeugen und mitreissen konnten. Dabei schafft es Stephan, die Hörer und Zuschauer in seine eigene Gedankenwelt hinein zu ziehen aber auch einfach nur gute Stimmung zu verbreiten.
MYSTERY OF DAWN hat bereits drei CDs veröffentlicht. Die erste heisst "edge of dawn" und ist noch recht verspielt, da erst ein konkreter Stil gefunden werden musste. Die zweite CD "moments" entstand im März 2001 im hauseigenem Studio und ist deutlich differenzierter. Mit dieser CD haben MYSTERY OF DAWN vorerst ihren Stil gefunden, der durch Vielseitigkeit besticht, aber auch einen hohen Wiedererkennungswert hat.
Im Jahre 2004 kam als Überbrückung die LOST EP heraus. Den Vertrieb hat Icare Media übernommen. Am 30.01.2009 ist nun endlich die lang erwartete "AUGENLICHT" als Download-Album bei sämtlichen Shops erschienen. Weiter wird es noch eine Akkustik-CD geben in der wir sämtliche Stücke lediglich mit Gitarre und Saxophon einspielen werden. Man darf also gespannt sein.
Ferner haben MYSTERY OF DAWN und ENEMEYNATION ein Nebenprojekt ins Leben gerufen, welches auf den Namen "statiCViolence" hört und bei dem die beiden Bands Musk nachgehen werden, die sie unter ihren normalen Namen nicht veröffentlichen können. HART und kompromisslos. Das erste gemeinsame Lied "friendly fucked" wird es als Bonus sowohl auf der neue ENEMYNATION-CD "different worlds" und der AUGENLICHT von uns geben. Is ganz nett geworden.
