Mystery of Sorrow wouldn't mind not being a solo project. If you have similar tastes in music and want to work towards a common, mutually fulfilling musical goal, let me know! I play and do a bit of everything, so I'm pretty flexible. If you live in the area and play an instrument, sing, or whatever it is you do, hit me up.

MYSTERY OF DAVE
Mystery of Sorrow is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist and ex Vanishment (now reformed as Atticist) keyboardist & vocalist David 'Bat' Ayala AKA "the artist formerly known as Fritz". Started prior to 2000 , MoS started out an outlet for David to explore other musical styles.
Shortly after Mystery of Sorrow's creation, the song "Missing" exploded onto MP3.com (R.I.P.) as something of an independent internet radio hit, at one point topping the Gothic charts with a number one ranking.
In late 2005, David left Vanishment (not an easy decision) and moved from Nevada to Iowa where Mystery of Sorrow is now his only musical endeavor. An exhaustive search for a vocalist ended in May of 2009 when David heard a demo recording by Whitney Hall. A dialog began, some recording took place and the decision to work together on some songs was reached!
Currently Mystery of Sorrow is officially working on a full length recording that should hopefully be ready for consumption in the Fall of 2009!
Mystery of Sorrow is:
WHITNEY HALL: Vocals
DAVID AYALA: guitars, bass, synthesizers, vocals, E.W.I., and sequencing.

He was despised and forsaken of men,
A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
And like one from whom men hide their face
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

A clever illusion, this exterior I wear Cleverly built to hide, meant to conceal The dark reality that I hide deep inside Tucked away behind an artificial ideal
The rest of the world has no way to know The thoughts that plague my twisted mind This show I put on for the rest of the world Leaving them guessing, leaving them blind
We spend our lives hiding behind masks,so afraid to step out and look life square in the eyes. We pretend to find something else to look or stare at the ground at rather than meeting each other eye to eye. We chase shadows to avoid reality. We chase shadows to hide from life.
