I FINALLY got to see you guys play last nite...loved it! (Although I could have skipped the part where me & my barstool got in the way of a shoving match! lol)
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 27TH VERONA GROVE w/ KILL BAXTER and BLIND JOE $3 COVER - 10PM SHOW
When you hear the story of Verona Grove it almost seems to good to be true. The three band members from Fond du Loc, Wisconsin joined forces in high school, wrote a few rock songs, got signed to PRC/Universal Records, finished High School, flew to LA to write and record their debut album with American Hi Fi guitarist Jamie Arentzen in the producers seat, hit the road with Shonen Knife among others and ended up on E! Entertainment news sandwiched between news about Britney and Lindsey. Not bad for a small town band who just wanted to write songs and play shows. The bands debut album "The Story Thought Over," is a shining example of Pop/Punk glory, from opening anthem "Broadcast the News," to new single "Everything You Dreamed," to "Goodbye Surrender," a song that has my vote for rock anthem of the year, maybe even the last few years. Verona Grove is one of those bands that remind people it's ok to have fun and rock out, a fact backed up by the bands recent cover of Roxette's "Joyride," a song I for one wouldn't have thought could really rock, but in this case I have been proven wrong. Opening the show is Fargo's own, Kill Baxter and Blind Joe.
Thanks for singing at my wedding Chuck, you did awesome and we all loved the song! Made the day that much more special. Have fun in NYC! Love ya, Heather
Good show last night guys! I really enjoyed playing with you. We will need to do it again soon. Let me know if you need an opener or want to set something up again.
