i am a self-confessed scouseaholic and media junkie, and i need help with the latter as it is stopping me enjoying the former. i'm not remotely sporty these days, although i was a good swimmer as a child.
most of my favourite bands hail from liverpool (past and present) THE BEATLES, the la's, shack, THE CORAL, the bandits, the zutons etc, but my alltime favourites include adam and the ants, nz band the mockers (well done andrew fagan on your latest sailing world record!) the trashcan sinatras, oasis, but definitely not blur. currently i am into the arctic monkeys and keane, but i cant stand coldplay, snowpatrol, rhcp, and duran duran.
Movies
i don't usually like blockbusters, however i made an exception for pirates of the caribbean and i also enjoyed catch me if you can. i like new zealand movies like once were warriors and whalerider, britflicks in general: anything from rob roy to butterfly kiss, titus to sweet sixteen. i am so not into sci-fi: i have never seen a single star wars/star trek/lord of the rings movie and i don't intend to (sorry orlando!) i enjoyed, or should i say endured monster. i like old movies too, like the wicked lady, and the original oliver twist. the movie that probably sums up my childhood is "whatever happened to baby jane" with my mother in the bette davis role. best movie this year: brokeback mountain.
Television
all the news programmes, coronation street, harry hill's tv burp, some reality tv shows (big brother) paul o'grady, russell brand, music channels, the odd costume drama eg: casanova, biography/history channels, football if it involves either liverpool or watford. also enjoyed bro' town (nz animated adult comedy) "can you handle the jandal!" current obsession: fbi files/forensic detectives/sensing murder (kiwi programme where psychics investigate unsolved cases from the past!)i recently enjoyed the beau brummell biography (this charming man. matthew rhys playing lord byron stole the show.
Books
i was such a bookworm when i was a kid. i don't read as many books now, but i like biographies. last book i bought was smash hits 80's yearbook and before that the adam ant autobiography which i highly recommend...i am more into music magazines and current events than novels at present. however charles dickens is probably my favourite writer of all time.
Heroes
i admire anyone who has found their true vocation in life and is able to get paid for doing what they love, especially when it brings pleasure to others and yet it is at no expense to any moral code of ethics; also anyone who manages find true love in their lifetime and cherish it forever. We are obviously working hard to get up as high as possible in the charts so any help will be very much appreciated!
Also, we have our new youtube video! If you have a youtube account please comment the page as to what you think :)

"STRAWHOUSES is all about that feeling that we're living blissfully unaware that we're on unsteady ground.
Their musical influences are diverse; from the melody kings of Radiohead, REM and U2, to the tribal beats of Killing Joke, to the darkest moments of Joy Division and The Smiths. "
"FAKE UNION is a project that strives to make thoughtful music. Making songs that are edgy and uncomfortable is what they are good at. So they keep doing it, with smiles on their faces and fists in the air!"
